NATURE IS UNWELCOME HERE: LA City Councilman Garcetti office-contracted workers have been chopping and hacking cottonwood trees on L.A. River islands as part of a misguided, unnecessary campaign to rid the River of bamboo-like arondo. Here's video of their chainsaw work today.
