"Classic and beautifully sung." **** MOJO"The missing link between Damien Rice and Jeff Tweedy" **** UNCUT"Tunes that soars to the heavens. A special new talent!" ***THE SUNTD Lind is a songwriter doing things entirely on his own terms - and another artist who the major labels have failed. Entirely of his own accord and songwriting prowess, iTunes have recently granted him one of their highest accolades; listing "Let's Get Lost" as their Single Of The Week. On the back of this TD Lind is releasing his brilliant single 'Falling' with independent label Tall Tale Records. He has worked hard to get to the point he is at now; first one record deal from Imago/RCA was offered, signed, then ended when the company lost it's funding and folded, then another from the mighty A&M Records, who flew all their senior executives to Louisville, Kentucky and signed him on the spot. An amazing album was made, an eighteen month promotional tour undertaken, radio, press, festivals and the offer of The Late Show, when sadly and rather crushingly a Canadian whiskey company bought Polygram and folded A&M into it, and so for the second time and through no fault of his own, he had no way to release his music. Still playing songs from St. Louis to Huntington, from Chicago to Memphis, TD Lind was still performing in front of thousands, driving his '56 Buick Special, playing a 6120 Gretsch guitar, not escaping the dream. After such extraordinary experiences he was one day back in a room in Louisville, Kentucky when he pulled out a 4-track Tascam cassette recorder and decided to record a handful of songs about his adventures. These songs were unlike anything he had previously written or sung. And having put those songs down TD Lind came home to England. A copy of that cassette fell into the hands of the highly unique record producer Rupert Hine. A year later, Lind and Hine had made some remarkable recordings. Added to those were some of the songs he'd worked on during his time in Los Angeles, Nashville and London to fully complete the story. Lind now had a collection of private romantic ballads, mid-western rock, wonderful sophisticated pop and spine-tingling gypsy waltzes. You need to have lived a life to have written these songs, and from the small clubs of Europe to the lost towns of the Mid-West of America, TD Lind has been living that life.Taking the risks he'd always taken in life; he put a new British band together and started playing the London clubs while becoming very involved in the release of his new music. This sparked off numerous plays from key national radio tastemakers on Radio 2 and 6 Music, including Dermot O'Leary, Phil Jupitus, Bob Harris, Janice Long, Alex Lester, Pete Mitchell, Simon Mayo, Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie, live sessions on Tom Robinson and Loose Ends and there's been early support on Terry Wogan's Radio 2 breakfast show with widespread regional radio play. With enormous on-line attention he has also had 4 star reviews turning up in Uncut and MOJO and a chance to have his music feature in the left-field hit move Driving Lessons. He's also taken his music to South By Southwest, The Wireless Festival, The Americana Festival and amongst many of his own London shows he's also supported James Blunt for 3 nights at The Shepherd's Bush Empire -- and just finished a series of headline shows across UK clubs in October.TD Lind is also working on writing music from narrative; he has spent the last couple of months releasing balloons or planting cards with his contact details in book shops and museums asking whoever finds the card to email him with a story from their life. He has called this project "Balloon Tales" .The first of the Balloon Tale songs to emerge from this is Call Me Sinner which is the "B" side on his current single "Falling" (released 8/10/07).TD Lind was iTunes Single of the Week over the Summer and has just been included in iTunes Essentials compilation: "Hotly Tipped for 2007". He has also been nominated for an Independent Music Award. This is an extremely original and exceptionally talented musician who's extraordinary debut album is being discovered!
