Oct 12, 2008 - how can a climate create carbon dioxide?

803honda Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - there are many ways but the most common way is through vegatation. plants and trees breath in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide.

803honda Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - it has been proven that the environment creates more natural carbon dioxide as the tempurature rises. the earth has always experienced natural warming and cooling periods. if you dont belive me google the words "ice age"

Hosea22 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Globalization is making the world one big, boring shopping mall. You can travel from Bangkok to Brussels and not find a decent locally-made souvenier. It's all crap from China.

Hosea22 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - An old friend of mine recently wrote me about how nothing authentic remains in England. There used to be charming pubs on every corner, with long traditions and a local flavor. Now they are all mass-marketed chains, bland, and predictable. Is this what we want? Nothing unique left in the world? I was just in Dubai (part of the United Arab Emirates), and the stores were practically the same as those in the Europe.

Hosea22 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Globalization also seems to hurt the poor, indigenous populations the most. The poor in places like Peru have not benefited from capitalism. If anything, they have become largely landless and without any means of making money in the new economy.

Hosea22 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Why do people hate McDonalds? Because they prey on peoples' worst tendencies: convenience over substance, predictability over innovation. McDonalds often acts like a vulture. It targets properties that have financial problems, and snatches them up, replacing the original use of a beautiful, historic building with their garish plastic nightmare.

Hosea22 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - In places like Paris, people still have leisurely lunches, but as the temptation grows for French companies to squeeze more work out of their employees, those respectable lunches may be shortened as employers point out that they can eat fast food.

Hosea22 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Let's stay with examples from France. One thing the French excel at is producing relatively small quantities of a product with very high quality. In the globalized market, these companies cannot compete. A small, private French dairy making high quality cheeses has far greater costs than some massive dairy corporation in Argentina. With globalization, the distributors can't be bothered to stock these small quantities, so no matter where you travel, you always get the same mass-marketed products.

funniefish04 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Other way around moron.

newyorkbushi Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - awesome

803honda Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - thats what they want you to think.

porkypine8974 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - the person who made this clearly needs to speak to economicist and listen. These third worlders don't feel exploited. they're happy. they get more jobs. they can work their way up.

funniefish04 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - No. You're just wrong, you have no proof and you're ignorant.

803honda Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - it has been proven by scientist. your the one with no proof.

iwasbornin1963 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Climate change is a natural thing for the planet. How do you explain the Ice age before cars were invented. If there is global warming or cooling I forget. It is not caused by man. Many other scientists agree. It is a hoax by trying to control how we live our lives by anti-USA and anti-capitalist loosers.

shas1814 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Right. They are happy...until the corporation sees that it's cheaper to move to a poorer country, at which point they pull out and leave behind a collapsed economy in which the traditional jobs no longer exist.

porkypine8974 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - they move on to bigger and better jobs. many make enough money to start businesses. those businesses expand. their wages increase. by the time those sweat shops leave, its not that big of a lost.

porkypine8974 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Look at Hong Kong. It was once nothing but a rock and sweat shops. America was once just sweat shops and farms. They are now the economic leaders of the world. There's almost no sweat shops. You're looking at it like those people are drones. Most of them will gain ambition, and take chances. They will want to expand their pocket books too.

shas1814 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - That would certainly be nice.

porkypine8974 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Globalization & sweat shops create win-win situation for EVERYONE. Lower prices for us, bigger profit for companies, who expand themselves, creating more jobs, better jobs for those "slaves" as many call them, then bigger paychecks for those workers, they expand their bank accounts, they expand their skills, they start businesses, they then expand those, and employ the less ambitious, their businesses expand into corporations, and those new corporations open more sweat shops. In other nations.

porkypine8974 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - It doesn't happen over night. It takes 30, 40, or even 50 years. But it works. And if you stand in the way of Globalization, many countries will always suck the tit of the UN, they will always live in huts, always be working on farms, always be in poverty. And no amount of your charity will ever change that.

shas1814 Says:

Oct 12, 2008 - Hey, if that's how you see it, go for itand good on ya for caring. Please don't speak dismissively, though, of "your charity."Have I said one word about charity? You have no idea what I do, what I give.
