Aug 21, 2008 - Ravishing Grimness was about the last Darkthrone album I enjoyed, I'd reccomend checking out some Nargaroth though. Darkthrone are going the way of Satyricon, once one hell of a band they're now a bit shitty. XD

Aug 21, 2008 - Excellent. Truely black. I have stated many times that I am a fan of Darkthrone. New and Old. I love how they are breaking away from the "rules" of the scene. To me, these last two albums that they have released are sending a message telling modern metal to FUCK OFF, and are a salute to the old school influences of the band. A salute to the true sounds that inspire Darkthrone. That is how I see it at this point. So far, I think that they are doing quite well with their sound.

What I mean is that they are staying true to making albums that they want to do instead of doing something that the majority of people expect from them. To me, they are far from "selling out." They are venturing further underground without any outside, mainstream influences in their work. I'm interested in hearing their new album in the future...
