The police are rarely ever there to STOP a crime, be it robbery or rape or murder whatever. It is the responsibility of law abiding citizens to protect themselves and guns are merely a tool to accomplish that task. What happened in new orleans was a fucking travesty! They didn't take guns away from criminals, they took them away from law abiding citizens.

This is a perfectly good example of why you always harness a weapon on your hip... if they try and take your weapons, let them know that if they attempt to cease your property without a warrant, that they had better be prepared to kill you!
