The video you will see on this web site is horrifying. The crimes committed against law-abiding gun owners are beyond comprehension. The arrogance of anti-gun politicians and government officials and their hate of freedom will churn your stomach. The law is the law, the Constitution is the Constitution. If ONE local mayor or police chief can decide what the Second Amendment means, it opens the door to tyranny—where ANY mayor or police chief can say what the Second Amendment means. You've seen this brand of abuse of freedom in the history books—in the pages about days of gun confiscations leading to the terror of Stalin, Mao and Hitler. But you'd never in a million years think it could happen in America.Well, it can and it did. And it will happen again unless we take action today.New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, Police Superintendent P. Eddie Compass unleashed a wave of confiscations with these chilling words:"No one will be able to be armed. We will take all weapons. Only law enforcement will be allowed to have guns."Thousands of firearms were then confiscated from law-abiding gun owners. The police gave no paperwork or receipts for those guns. They just stormed in and seized them. With your help we're going to make the first time in New Orleans the LAST time in America. Thank you! Now, one year later, these crimes against gun owners have snowballed into a far greater threat to our freedoms.Even though NRA secured a court order demanding their immediate and unconditional return, almost every single confiscated firearm remains locked in government trailers. With the stroke of a pen, Mayor Nagin and Police Superintendent Compass are getting away with "murder"—a savaging of the second, fourth and fourteenth amendments of our Constitution. And they have put America on notice that they're going to keep seizing lawfully owned guns under any pretense.New Orleans gun owners are showing up at these trailers, with serial numbers of their firearms, expecting Mayor Nagin and his band of anti-gunners to respect the Federal courts. They are met by stony-eyed bureaucrats who say serial numbers aren't enough—and that gun owners now need PROOF OF PURCHASE of these firearms. How many of those gun owners do you think had original receipts for those firearms? And even if they did, how many do you think could find those receipts in the wreckage of a hurricane? Many of these firearms were passed down from father to son, generation to generation. Some are precious heirlooms. Some are collector's pieces won in our wars. And they were all lawfully owned and they must be returned to their owners. With your help we're going to make the first time in New Orleans the LAST time in America. Thank you!https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/donate.asp?CampaignID=neveragain

Jul 26, 2008 - Marie Galatis is one of the people Obama says, "clings to their guns and their bible." Make sure you vote for big Daddy Obama, he'll protect you from the thugs if there's a natural disaster. Also, the people in Britain (UK) are now having protests because they were disarmed by their government don't think it can't happen in this country.

MuddleVanHeck Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Jikonius,It's practically the only right we have left, and whether or not one chooses to own a gun is a different matter altogether. It's the principle, and I don't plan on giving up that right. Besides, look at this administration and what it's done. We'd be foolish not to question anything from these thugs for the last 7 years.

SavageHmr Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Next time the best thing is to bury them. i hear all the glocks and sigs that was confiscated was sold to other states that's robbery

marianneglinda Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - In Australia they used the excuse of the Port Arthur Massacre to take away guns from all Australians. There is alot of coverup involving this incident.google has some good info.

lvking05 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - wake up people, this is what we have to look forward to.

verne51 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - First of all it's the second amendment that guarantees the first. And second, by the time you have to call 911 it's already too late. The police are rarely ever there to STOP a crime, be it robbery or rape or murder whatever. It is the responsibility of law abiding citizens to protect themselves and guns are merely a tool to accomplish that task. What happened in new orleans was a fucking travesty! They didn't take guns away from criminals, they took them away from law abiding citizens.

man95000 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - i will, i am 17 turning 18 jan 27th =)

pred178 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - With guns we are citizens without them we are subjects.

bullpup762 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - This is an outrage. That woman clearly showed her revolver was empty with the cylinder open and she was not aggressive or using the weapon in a threatening manner. The U.S. is less of a democracy than ever before, because of all these left-wing, anti-gun nutjobs, we are becoming a socialist nation with no rights. Vote, don't let this happen and God help us if their are any more bans. Remember, "From my COLD, DEAD hands."

nate19226 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I can't wrap my mind around why so many Americans so blindly and stupidly advocate lax gun control laws. I'm from Canada and I live in the Victoria region of vancouver Island. We have around the same population as Baltimore except one tenth the murder rate. Now try and bash gun control

ScottieDM Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Nate:Property rights are the foundation of freedom, and it doesn't matter what kind of property we speak of. If the government can take guns today what's to keep them from taking your house or your land tomorrow. Here in the U.S. this is supposed to be a nation by the people and for the people, not for the elite in charge.

sabishiisamurai Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - So we should be able to own tanks right?

sanmiguelito64 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - The freedom we all enjoy today(or what's left of it)is directly linked to the founding father's implementation of the 2nd amendment. The Republic came into existence because the British wanted to confiscate the guns. The 2nd amendment is about the citizens protecting itself from tyrannical government. The U.S is the biggest armed camp in the world and the elite can't wait to change that.

Taspearl Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Boy I'll tell yah; this government thinks they're the Lord God Almighty and the police think they're the divine angels; absolute power my fanny!

camaroz28fatbuttgabe Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - it's not the fact that we own guns that gives America the highest gun related death rate. i don't personally know why so many Americans die by guns every year but if we all practice safe and responsible gun ownership and use, there'd be a whole lot less gun related deaths in the entire world, not just America. just watch the movie "Babel" and you'll see what i mean.

hovanti Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - This poor lady...the local police were real bullies. So, after a natural disaster, the 2nd Amendment is repealed? I think not.

statixman1 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - This is just a taste of what will happen when the shit realy hits the fan. This government will turn on us in an instant and it doens't matter if U are the safest person with a gun or not, you won't be able to have on for fear of fighting back. Sickening that this was allowed to happen. They violated everyones rights.

Alexandra22773 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - What kills people is laws restricting gun ownership. The cities that are the most restrictive about guns have the highest crime rate--like DC.Now Switzerland--EVERYONE owns a gun (just about) and the crime rate is extremely low.Gun laws don't matter to criminals.

SAYYOURROSARY Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - yes and grenade throwers and anti tank weapons , everything we need in case we need them, when the 2nd ammendment was written they had no tanks, Americans need to wake up Ron Paul 2012

nobssagittarius2 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - You Christians are the only reason why school shootings happen. (Well the media promising 15 minutes of shame doesnt help ither.)

Leavon Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Pal you're not even an American citizen, do you even wonder why your government doesn't give a rip about your individual rights? Its because you don't have the perceived ability to force a change in the event they stop representing you and become a self serving entity. Oh wait too late, for your country I guess.

zigzagjim Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - yes ! who is this goverment affraid! if they don't wrong the people then they should have no fear of them right!

Eisenmond Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - these were not local police. They were police forces brought in from California to assist in securing the area... No wonder they had no sense of the constitution! This is a perfectly good example of why you always harness a weapon on your hip... if they try and take your weapons, let them know that if they attempt to cease your property without a warrant, that they had better be prepared to kill you! That wont look too pretty on the 6 o'clock news!Fight back! Defend yourselves!

JarG0n Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - It's events like the Katrina gun confiscation that gives government a bad name. This is clearly an act of tyranny. The policemen that voluntarily participated in confiscating guns from law abiding citizens are no better than Hitlers jack booted thugs.

diggingforgold Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Was there any legal action taken against the government for this?
