Jul 26, 2008 - I don't know why but WWII composers have something with their music makes you obsessed with their songs. Anyway this song is great, i absulutely love it. Nobody can beat this!

TeensAreNotChildren Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Big Band music was the precursor to rock-and-roll, and they share a lot of common sounds that you can still hear in today's radio/pop music.

Jul 26, 2008 - Brilliant.

EvalinaJ Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - The only real similarities it bares any more, though, is the fact that it has a catchy repetition. The music back from the 30-50's shouldn't be compared much to today's standards because music back from that time was intelligent. Music today has to be simple because, for some reason, the public has become conditioned to simple music only. Intelligence is a minority among talent today. You can tell when wonderful stuff like this fades into the distant background.

FanOfJanis Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - To EvalinaJ: You are right. In fact, today's populace has been deliberately and skillfully conditioned to simple-mindedness and group-thinking in nearly all areas of life. It's a long story, and most people wouldn't believe it anyway. Just my opinion. Thank God for these old classics for us to enjoy. Peace.

Jantv81 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - other songs that remind me of the service: the shirrelles- soldier boy (1962) and Diane Renay- Navy Blue.

jDUBzGurl08 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - music was intelligent then, in my opinion, because it was real artist who wrote and played the music! now we have computers to make any sound we need, back then a person had to make that sound
