In this series deciding game, MJ attacked the basket with his usual finesse/ferocity to make sure the Bulls advanced to the next round. This is the game that features "The Shot" - the famous hanging jumper we keep seeing in all those highlights and commercials. But, people forget that that shot merely capped yet another masterful performance. MJ attacked the basket like man possessed to get his 44 points the hard way. People also forget that the Bulls lost to the Cavs in all 5 games during the regular season so they were not expected to challenge them at all. MJ's 39.8 ppg, 5.8 rebs and 8.2 asts during the series made sure that the playoffs told a different story. As usual, when it mattered most, on national TV, Game 5 in the playoffs, MJ raised his play and continued his flair for the dramatic to add to his legacy as the greatest playoff and clutch performer ever.

Sep 4, 2008 - They are all great athletes, but it's pretty hard to leave Jim Thorpe off such a list.

Sep 4, 2008 - People are just looking at stats to compare players. While Jordans stats are amazing, you cant gauge him just by that. What made him so great was that he always hit the big shots when they mattered the most. If he had the ball in his hands, down 1, with a few ticks left, you might as well just change the channel because you know whats gonna happen.I honestly got bored of watching basketball for years because he was so dominate. It was like reading a book you already know the ending to.

Sep 4, 2008 - Im a huge MJ and Old school fan...Gotta ask you tho hoops, didnt u notice all the shoving and stuff MJ is getting away with during this game? He elbows Ehlo in the mouth bad on that move he makes to get space to shoot the 2nd to last FG he makes...He was doing stuff like that, not necessarily duirty with elbows like Karl Malone did, but shoving and grabbing, all the way thru 98.

Sep 4, 2008 - Seriously.. as I watch Michael operate, I can't even think of one player who has the same court presence. Once in a lifetime.

Sep 4, 2008 - MJ-1989 vs.Cleveland Game 5 "The Greatest shotever that Jordan ever scored and hitting "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo's bitch-ass.

tjacobs37 Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - yea but he also got punished more than any other player in the league. Remember the "Jordan Rules" which was based on knocking Jordan "on his ass" and was the reason for the invention of the flagrant foul. That is part of what made Jordan so good. He would get killed every game, but still scored 30ppg. If he played in today's rules he could score like 40 or 50ppg no problem. Thats why there will never be anyone like him.

Rock7132 Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - Ehlo = pwned. Goddamn I hate Pubie Brown.

mrmacross Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - Understated in this shot is how hard Jordan had to work just to get open for the pass, as he was double covered in an inbounds zone defense. And even after he got the ball, he was in no position to make a shot. An incredible all-around play. But the most surprising thing about this video is that Phil Jackson looked happy. He might not have been jumping up and down like Doug Collins, but at least he showed some emotion. The current day Jackson seems devoid of any soul.

grooveskin Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - amen dawg!

Sep 4, 2008 - then again everyone at that time was shoving and pushing each other. only reason your remembering jordan doing it is because he is famous

keenie66 Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - I am looking for the video of Jordan when he was scoring so insanely that he just shrugged when he made a shot because he surprised himself....Anyone know what game??? Help!
