At the beginning of "Life Support" the characters that introduce themselves are actually the names of people that Jonathan lost due to AIDS (Gordon, Ally, Pam, Sue etc) Its a dedication. Also, if a producer wants to, they can change the names of those characters to acknowledge people in their own lives affected by HIV :)
