Aug 20, 2008 - actually kingdom hearts is its own series between disney and square enix characters. It was just a project between disney and square enix. they were thinking of making movies together but pixar decided to sign a contract with disney which i believe square enix would of liked it better if they were to never of worked with disney. Disney went half and square enix went half. other than that its just a made up series like Final Fantasy tatics.

Aug 20, 2008 - The Kingdom Hearts series has nothing to do with the original FF7 series. It's just a collaboration between Disney and Square Enix that uses a few /characters/ from FF7 (and a few other FF games).

When Disney realized how well the game did they tried to muscle in on the development but because of the original contract they couldn't and the rest of the franchise can only be made by Square-Enix.
