Your Daily Politics Video Blog: One of the most entertaining things about the 2008 campaign has been watching John McCain embrace all of President Bush's policies and word game flimflams. And there's no better example than Social Security where McCain has not only adopted President Bush's proposal to phase out Social Security and replace it with private investment accounts he's even adopted Bush's word game bamboozlement to try to trick voters into thinking he doesn't support the policy he actually does support. Those of us who are about to talk straight, Salute You!

Sep 4, 2008 - Who cares people are still going to vote for McCain...
d991 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - I don't like McCain at all, but why does this report only talk about McCain and privatization and not about the issue itself. Do the people who support social security not realize that the program, along with medicare are going to bankrupt the U.S? This is not a republican or democrat issue, this is a financial actuarial fact: there are far too many liabilities and nothing backing them. Someone needs to ask Obama what his solution is (and no, the status quo won't work)

Sep 4, 2008 - Why? I hate McCain. He's a dopey old war mongering fucker who in an ideal world shouldn't even have got this far! Kucinich should have won the primaries... but meh, what do I know, I'm not even an American anymore! :)

Sep 4, 2008 - about half of the country have been doing that for the past 7 years and look how good our country is doing. no more bush or bush imitators.
crackillsobegood Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - lol. Social security SHOULD be privatized. The federal government does not have the right to reach into individuals pockets and put their hard earned money into a "pot" that they did not choose to be apart of. Read the constitution people!!!!
foxilocks2007 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - great. so how do you and daddy warbucks propose we fund SS??
ManVsReality08 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - the best??? LOL you are really dumb I hope you don't vote with that kinda logic.
crackillsobegood Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - It shouldn't exist in the first place. Hence no reason to fund it. It's unconstitutional to vote away someone's personal property! As well as there hard earned money. 12.4 % of everyone's income now goes to a pot that is unstable, inefficient and gets taxed by the government it's absurd. A joke. Ron Paul 08!
MarimbaVirtuoso Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - So do you believe in eliminating taxes completely?
crackillsobegood Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - Oh certainly not. The sole purpose of the income tax is to provide government the means to complete tasks that private industry simply cannot partake in. Such as roads, infrastructure in general, and the military. Infrastructure is primarily under the jurisdiction of local or state governments. So there is positively no reason why people should be paying a 30% federal income tax in the United States.
crackillsobegood Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - Over 80% of your tax dollars are going to payments to individuals. Because the Liberals in office seem to think they know how to micromanage society, and they know what to do with your money better then you do! They've managed to throw out the constitution, not that any of them have read it in the first place.I recommend reading Miton Friedman's book: "Free to Choose." Or at the very least watch some of his videos here on youtube.
nagzul Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - Whats wrong with privatizing? The people should own the government. The governemnt should not own the people.
snakeyesx21 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - I went to the dermatologist the other day, thirty minute visit. There was no special procedure or equipment, he just looked at me and prescribed an antibacterial cream. The bill? $701This was an HMO doctor, that's whats wrong with privatization.
nagzul Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - There should not be a charge for a visit period. If I could change it, I'd say that any service that "takes a look at something" should be free of charge or maybe a 20$ fee. from car places to dentist offices. They are just taking advantage of your insurence; and they try to weeed you into getting a checkup for nothing. The money should only come if you get work done.
mcnathan80 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - I think each individual should have the choice to contribute to SS or not. In my opinion I will not contribute to a fund that will go down in value as it ages as social security only pays out a fraction of what is put into it. You woudl literally be better putting your money in a sock under your bed and saving THAT for retirment. This is NOT a partisan issue this is a financial issue, America MUST educate itself. Check out the Fair Tax Act, it's what I support.
