Oct 11, 2008 - Then why is it so hard to believe that if an animal mutates but then survives because this mutation helps them to eat the leaves on the high branches of a tree for example it then passes on that mutation which eventually, after millions of years turns into a giraffe.
stepgranpep Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - An animal mutating into something beyond its DNA has never been witnessed. In fact, no beneficial mutation has ever been witnessed. But stupid people like you still believe with all your little hearts that it happens, because that's what Mr. Johnson told you in high school. I've got news for you: Mr. Johnson is a retard.
stepgranpep Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Fine, don't look him up. It would be over your head anyway. It's better you just continue being an ignorant moron. Go watch some MTV or something.

Oct 11, 2008 - I've been a vegetarian for almost a year now. After I read the book Harvest for Hope by Jane Goodall, I couldn't touch meat again. I figured I couldn't call myself an environmentalist if I ate meat.
sineaddeburca Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - yay! Diet for a Small Planet, is a great book too, that's what got me started around 18 yrs ago.
ShariqTorres Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - You're not going to witness this because this process takes hundreds of thousand of years to take place. You're not going to find a "missing link" between homo sapiens saipens and chimpanezes. We are all modern animals; this split took place millions of years ago. As for Michael Behe, please post a link to an article he has written in a respected, peer-reviewed scientific journal.
ShariqTorres Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - go read your bible. leave this science stuff to people with a higher IQ than yours.
ShariqTorres Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - that is the stupidest thing i have ever heard. have you heard of forensic pathology? its how police scientist can find a fragment of a rib and extroplate how a generally good picture of how that person's body type, size, what they died of, and whether or not they were in good health before they died.go read your bible. The Invisible Man in the Sky COMMANDS YOU TO!
rhesusmonkeydave Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Thank you stepgranpep for your absolute crap. There's examples of new forms of DNA and new organisms all around you, calling people "retards" is no way to conduct a ration discussion. Get over your magic sky man fantasy and try a little critical thinking.
limbopete Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Did you GO to high school? Also, I would advise everyone that reads this post to actually research how mutation plays a role in evolution. It is misunderstood.
SweetFatality Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - right...so for example in my microbiology class when i whitnessed that bacterias mutated so they could survive in an environment with penicillin it wasn't beneficial for them? moron...
waterboi74 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - I've read Michael Behe's book Darwin's Black Box which made me realize that you can't believe something just because it's in print. This book had a lot of fancy terms and elaborate ways of cooking numbers. I remember the first chapter describes evolution from beginning to present as taking 13 billion years. And well everyone knows that the earth is only 4.2 billion years old. It's obvious what his argument was. pt1
waterboi74 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - My question is, where is the base line on which to start counting? You can't just say it takes such and such a time for a cell to evolve from this point to that. It's my understanding that things mutate to adapt to an environment. There are too many variables to consider before you can form a time line. Numbers are being cooked to generate a misguided following. And Stepgranpep, calling people retards and ignorant isn't helping your case. pt2
ashhazz01 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - I agree with sweetfatality, i myself have conducted molecular genetic experiments on E.coli and we usually add reagents which induce mutations into the organism especially antibiotic resistance genes such as canamycin resistence. Organisms will evole through mutation to adapt to their environments.those that aquire deliterious mutations die out

Oct 11, 2008 - NO NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS! that's a scary thing about Hillary - she's for them, even though Chernobyl showed us what happens when humans err (as they will do). Edwards is intelligent and has commmon sense. And he's right about mobilizing our citizens for rightful causes...
ethancass Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - wow...you should actually look up things on nuclear power and nuclear power plants because you're wrong...so one goes bad...we could do so much good with nuclear power...just look it up before you open your mouth, or type letters rather...and look up penn & teller energy crisis, that will tell you the truth about it too...
cathanimator Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Google search "number of nuclear power plant accidents" - you will find A LOT MORE than Tschernobyl. And those are only the known accidents, not those covered up. But even if Tchernobyl were the only accident: Was nuclear energy worth any human being born deformed? Being sick their entire lives? When it all can be avoided? Dying horrible deaths? Also, never a need to be rude on youtube...
ethancass Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - So, you would rather we just keep polluting with our current energy sources, and not look into any new technology? Also, yes, I think that if it benefits the greater good, one baby can be born deformed, and how will we ever stop the deformation of said babies, if we don't strive to perfect technology we use. Also, sorry if I said anything rude. Did you look up Penn & Teller's Energy video-even though it is kind of crude?
cathanimator Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - "and not look into any new technology?" Do not put words in my mouth: I am all for alternative means of energy that do not result in radioactive waste or other life-threatening dangers. That's where the research should go. I am also for consuming less. Tcherynobyl & other accidents produced immeasurable suffering, deformities, cancer cases and other illnesses. Nothing, nothing justifies that!
ethancass Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - i didn't "put words in your mouth." notice the question mark? it was a question...and the scary thing to me is that you ONLY look for bad things, if you do that, you will ONLY find bad things...again look up the Penn & Teller episode...because you are wrong...

louisplat Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - If you believe this I feel sorry for you. And for Michael Behe, I can't be bothered to read what he has to say because I have heard the opinion of thousands of professors of biochemistry that says that evolution is a fact. Do you not believe that if your parents have blonde hair and blue eyes that you are likely to have them to because they pass on the genes.
