Jul 26, 2008 - Just to clarify. Wasn't being anti-gay, when I posted this. All I meant was, that being male, sexy Kate would have zero interest in me. Stop finding offence, when none is intended.

Jul 26, 2008 - For those wondering about the lyrics, the inner sleeve of their first album has them. And for those saying they were original, they were good at what they did, but they were far from original, especially in their early period, when they were consciously recycling styles and sounds from the first half of the 1960s. This song, for instance, uses a riff from a mid-60s James Bond theme. And their clothes are also from that period. Early 60s retro was huge at the time this band started out.

TimeForTimer Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - bullcrap - early 60's retro was huge in the late 70s my assWe were recovering from our deep dark disco dank and the 60s were the least of our interests.

pataphysician66 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I dug it! I knew it was recycled from old scifi movies, Like Wild Wild Planet and Green Slime. All the movies I loved as a kid. And Early punk although not retro was influenced by bands of the early and mid 60's, like early garage. They very consciously borrowed from these groups and came up with their own sound. Punk wasn't born in a vacuum.

hegemonies Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Kate dropped it like it was hot on 2:09 she is hot

colibri1 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Yeah, "huge" was probably the wrong word to use. It was a major focus to those of us paying attention to trends in clothes and music, not huge to the anti-disco US mall crowd. But in the UK, where things considered "underground" in the US were mainstream, 60s revival was easily recognized and generally popular.

Jul 26, 2008 - What a great song! I remember this from High School and thought "man, they are weird!"

designck Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - the year the song was released was actually 1979.... of course they aimed to have a very retro feel to their sound/look etc so I guess they succeeded if they appeared to be from the 60's :-)
