Also, don't get me wrong, I am proud of Ms Salonga, but the honors she received at the Tony's is for HER PERSONAL work as Kim in Miss Saigon, not as a representative of the Philippines.

The validation should come from Filipinos, and should not even seek approval from any country outside the Philippines. Sorry, but between Lea and Regine, Regine has done so much more for her country than Lea.

We need to get out of that colonial mentality that we need to have a career in Hollywood or the US to be considered great. Dear Filipinos, Hollywood is for Americans, just like Manila is for Filipinos. We can decide on our own on who we think are our great artists without seeking the nod of other countries.
