Jul 26, 2008 - CelticLady44,You have to admit that this music video is wheels-off. I understand the under lying message of this song. But the music video is somewhat disturbing. The weirdness of this song just kind of bugs me. I realize that Cyndi Lauper is trying promote the idea of being your self. But I don't feel she has to communicate that message in a disturbing way. And by the way, I wasn't trying to shock by my all caps use, it was just my first initial reaction of this gay ass music video! Thanks! =)

Jul 26, 2008 - Oddly enough,I never thought of it as a gay video.You see, I was always a bit odd and a young adult when this came out.I was just like the little girl in cowboy boots and jewelery. That's what I wore to play in!and no, I'm not gay.I'm a straight but not narrow Christian.I wanted people to like me for what I was,not what I had to act like to fit in.So now,I don't care.I wear good jewelery, make up to the food store!Don't like me? Jul 26, 2008 - Agree with every single comment that highly praises this song, the video and (above all) Cyndi, herself. Her voice range is phenominal. She obviously did this song using a soft and gentle voice, but she can also belt them out. Both her vocal range and precision in hitting every single note are just about as good as it gets. I love her, too. In addition to her music, I also appreciate her giving nature and her great sense of humor. Talk about TALENT!!
