Aug 20, 2008 - That's hog wash. Thinking can never lead to liberation. To know one's true Self one should remain without thinking unnecessarily. Thinking is of time, the past and future. Liberation is when the thinker or ego is NOT. Be still and know that you are God. Absolute stillness and silence is needed to know one's true Self or nature. Gurdjieff dances were tuned in such a way that they needed to stop at regular intervals all at once and be still where no thoughts could interrupt the stillness.

I take what I need from Gurdjieff but I'm not nailing my flag to anyone's mast! One thing you guys forget sometimes is Gurdjieff's great sense of humour. That's a good place to start....

Probably you meant to use the word originality. I am not an expert on Gurudjiva's life (I guess that is the correct pronounciation of Gurdjieff).If I want humour I watch Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin. I wish you well.
