Any idiot with access to wiki knows it wasn't an explosion it was an expansion of matter and space time.Also yes, the big bang created hydrogen and heluim. This eventually caused the creation of a star and through fusion the other elements which created everything else.

Aug 20, 2008 - I think Atheists shouldn't judge God based on the religion of Christians. Religions are cults that make God seem like an imaginary friend. Understanding God is very difficult for someone who is proof based. There are a lot of secret religiously motivated projects that are more advanced than mainstream science that leave absolutely no "proof" of it going on. Being proof based is like taking a step back towards understanding anything important.Peace

Science uses the best available evidence to form an explanation, a theory, of how something works. If new evidence is found, the theory is changed. Science is flexible and reality based. Religions are full of internal inconsistencies, such as saying "thou shalt not kill" and then killing in the name of the religion.
