Jul 26, 2008 - It's not about gay, it's about femininity. People misunderstand. Feminine does not mean gay (many TVs are not gay). Feminine men tend to be sensitive to beauty, and are more artistic. He is loved for his beautiful skating and his femininity. Many men poses feminine side, some more some less. That is nature. Johnny's sexual preference is not important unless you want to sleep with him--that is nothing to do with skating.

Jul 26, 2008 - queer boys daiske and stephan also beat evan. i hope your mouth falls off!! stop watching skating, and try to stop breathing too!

audrey6516 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Agree with boink99615.

kevinh73 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I think both Johhny and Evan skated about the same. The difference is that Evan had a quad (I think) in his program and Johnny doesn't. if Johnny ever wants to become an Olympic gold medalist, he'll need to have at least one if not two quads in his program. Also he needs to do a better job on his footwork. Both Takahashi and Lambiel's footwork look more intricate than his. Overall, it wasn't a bad program, just that the difficulty was not as high as the guys who got a medal.

Jul 26, 2008 - I LOVE this program. Everyone debating Johnny and Evan's sexuality needs to get a life. Preferably NOW.

vtudorica Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - you are right,i take back what i said, feminity dosn`t necesarilly mean being gay, but being sensitive

netsteelx3 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - If you are this narrow minded, then maybe you should stop breathing.

netsteelx3 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I really like this program, but i feel that it needs a quad for Johnny to stand at the top of the podium.

adamfirebear Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - i've been in skating my whole life and teaching has been my career for fifteen years. i'm also gay. if you don't think that skating exists through the efforts of gay guys--starting with ulrich salchow--then you've missed something. my comments were directed at meissnerparis who's got a problem with gay guys winning skating.all of these comments began because meissnerparis is a bitch...

floatingweeds Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - ...Or the judging system needs to change. Must change, in my opinion.

adamfirebear Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - halleluja floatingweeds! sing it sister! the new system is eroding any hope of another michelle or sasha coming along. happy holidays

Dmp1590 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - johnny weir's lacking of a quad is really starting to affect him. his laziness and unwillingness to further his technical skating frustrates me. johnny could be the best skater in the world if he embraced what the judges give him, instead of consistently not tying to improve.

audrey6516 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - did anybody notice that Johnny seemed to get fatter in GPF?

netsteelx3 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I'm truly sorry for what I said; I misinterpreted your comment.

adamfirebear Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - are you sure? he made a coaching change and cut his hair. if you saw the way he skated in the first two gp events you'd see that he was well prepared. perhaps he doesn't want to punish his body and end up with lifetime injuries or a plastic hip by the time that he's 25. quads have ruined men's skating

adamfirebear Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - ;-)

momjudi Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Johnny did not do the quad at the final because he was skating with an injury caused most likely by practicing the quad. Johnny's coach says the quad will most likely be there for nationals. The most important thing for them wss a clean long program, then adding the quad.

kabayevakabayeva Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - i don't think he got fat. i think that he has been training well and has become more muscular during that training. i think his body is becoming more of a 20something man and less of a teen. i like.

rosewithoutathorn Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I think he's waiting to try the quad for when he's really sure he'll land it. With this judging system, trying a quad and missing it would cost him more points than just not attempting it.

schnisha95 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - i agree w/u and the gay thing is i think just some absurd rumor

anjaliss Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I was there! Johnny was veeeeery good and nice. Quad or no quad, there's no doubt this boy has talent and deserves to be on top of the world. Keep it up Johnny!

floatingweeds Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - adamfirebear, I respect your comment, but please... let's not categorize people. It doesn't matter whether you're gay or not. I have good friends who are gay, bi, cross-gender, Asian, white...it really doesn't matter. I wish there's no border anywhere... Johnny is Johnny--no need to put him in a category.

adamfirebear Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - perhaps ur not gay male figure skater so you might not understand how frustrating it is to have people respect an ablity which is a part of the physiology of being gay,i'm tired of people trying to promote the idea that men's figure skating isn't almost entirely dominated by gay guys, that somehow that label would be insulting.

adamfirebear Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - part two: it's degrading to those of us who are talented gay skaters to have so many people want asexual skaters. people are afraid to admit that gays might actually be better at something than straights. reward gay skaters for their sexuality, don't think that it's better NOT to label him or me-ok?! ;-)

floatingweeds Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - adamfirebear - we're trying to achieve something similar, just from different perspective. I'm working with cross-gender men--some are gay, some not, some questioning. Many suffer because they can't fit into any categories...hard especially for younger ones. We're all different and unique, I respect that. John Lennon's Imagine speaks for me--the one Johnny skates to. I think what Johnny's achieved is great--many people love him purely as a skater.
