The roles you metioned were completely different and more mainstream than the Joker. However, I've never seen an actor more subsumed by his character than Leger was by his Joker. Remember it was this complete commitment to the role that caused Leger to have the psychological problems and disrupted sleep that led to him taking the sleeping pills that killed him.
