Jul 26, 2008 - there are lots out there to read, but yes its nice to see the future and how things are now.
FuryanJedi13 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - You pronounce Jacen as "Jaken"? I thought it was "Jasen"! I've always pronounced it that way.

Jul 26, 2008 - webhead1120 is right its like jason/jacen in this case. i was at scifi con and had a chance to talk to the writers and that was one of the questions answered.

Jul 26, 2008 - i will have to re-read that, i dont remember that happening, tho i remember Jaina doing it back in the Vong series and they never went anywhere with it.
AngryScissors Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - He is about to, but he stops when he sees Allana.
AngryScissors Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - To be perfectly honest, I think Legacy of the Force is bad. Jacen's fall isn't believable. I think the New Jedi Order was phenomenal.
LordZeratul86 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Its your point of view and I respect it. However, I like Legacy of the Force because it bears ressemblance to KOTOR series.Probably you won't agree But I LIKE it when a lot of people die in novels. WAIT a minute, you read New JEDI ORDER so you know Jacen Solo has brainwashed in Traitor. In a way, Nom Anor and Vergere killed him by making him a lot darker. In Troy Denning's series you read that jacen has gone secretive and insolent.
AngryScissors Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - But the thing is, in Traitor, at the end, he came out of the whole experience with a different philosophy but was STILL (perhaps more than ever) dedicated to finding peace through nonviolence. Then all of the sudden in Dark Nest he is insolent? And then in betrayal he suddenly doesn't give a second thought to killing anyone? What changed his mind?? They're just using the 5 year gap to avoid developing characters!
AngryScissors Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - And I don't mind when people die (otherwise I would hate NJO) but when Jacen Solo decides that he has to kill someone he loves JUST to prove he is strong enough to be a Sith, it's just stupid. There is no logic driving his character.
LordZeratul86 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Totally agree with you the FIVE YEARS was a lack of development but also an excuse to make older Ben Skywalker. However, I didn't mind that too much because I liked the way Legacy of the Force is taking.Nonetheless, you have an excellent point about the fact that Jacen was almost suddenly "forced" to kill someone.
Sanguiluna Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - I actually think it's the best series since the "X-Wing" cycle. I hated NJO, I DESPISED Dark Nest, but I'm actually liking Legacy. And if you ask me, I think Jacen's fall is a LOT more believable than Anakin's; in Episode III, Anakin went from great hero to Sith Lord overnight (LITERALLY). At least Jacen's fall was more gradual. If you had told me five years ago that Jacen Solo will turn to the Dark Side, I would've laughed at your face.
Sanguiluna Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - The thing about NJO, is that it just did not feel like Star Wars at all.We have our heroes fighting an all-powerful alien race bent on enslaving the galaxy. How frickin original is that?!What I like about Legacy, is that for the first time ever, our heroes aren't on the same side of this war. And that's the reality of war; war breaks up families, causes rifts between loved ones. Especially in this day and age, with Iraq and Al-Qaida, I think this series is very relevent to our time.
Sanguiluna Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - What do you think will become of Jacen at the end?Any theories? I personally want him to die, either by Ben's hand, or by Tenel Ka's hand.
DeltaYourmom Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Anakin's fall is not believable because Lucas cut too much from the movie- and Anakin had always thought he was better than the Jedi. It's not like he was totally perfect.Although NJO was dragged out way too long, the story was far more compelling than LOTF.
DeltaYourmom Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - How in the world can you say LOTF is more original than NJO? LOTF = Our hero falls to the Dark Side. How original.NJO = A total reassessment of the Jedi philosophy, a mystery surrounding why the Yuuzhan Vong can't be felt in the Force, and for the first time, the Jedi are almost helpless.
Sanguiluna Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - NJO = Our heroes vs. alien invaders who want to enslave everyone. Yeah, REAL original. Almost as original as "Independence Day" or "Star Trek" or any other sci-fi series out there.LOTF = Our heroes are torn apart by conflicing political opinions and ideologies, as duty clashes with personal allegiances, and a war threatens to sever familial ties previously thought to be unbreakable.
Laquisom Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - I am hoping for Jacen pulling away from the dark side and revealing or discovering just how he went from a pacifist wanting peace for all into a deluded ego maniacal killer attacking without really needing to. I am quite sure the NJO series he was NEVER like this at all during the story.
eternalrogue Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - It is going to be so hard for him if he does come back to the "light" after what all he did. There are redemptions in these books for sure but who is ever gonna look at him the same again.
ownage056 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - I think hes going to go into exile so they can prolong this series. Its going to be one of those they think hes dead but he really isnt....
