Sep 7, 2008 - this is obviously a beginner level. so shut it

1337leo Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Thanks for the tips.

jmd01 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Yes, it's easy to tune the 6th string down to a D, but how to tune it back up again easily?

longwayhome617 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Turn it the other way until it's an E? lol

CynicalSavior Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Why be a dick when he's just putting out a beginner's tutorial?

MrDarinWarren Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - If you drop D at all, spend $80 on a Hipshot D tuner. You get D tuning a the flip of a lever. I use it all the time on my Tele. It's the only way to do a quick D tune between songs, or during a song playing live. hipshotproducts (dot) com

Krasher4ever Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Drop tuning is really quick, takes about up to 10 seconds if you're good, if you want you could do it in 4 but riskier (might not be as precise)

Bunechunk Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - it doesnt take ten seconds if you have a floyd rose floating trem

Krasher4ever Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - True, but then I would suggest having two guitars in different tunings :D. I don't think it's good to down tune with the microtuner, maybe I'm wrong though...

MrDarinWarren Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - If you are playing live, and can hear yourself clearly, and also dont want to annoy people with the tuning down, which is annoying, the Hipshot is the way to go, it D tunes perfectly in less than a second. Not on a Floyde though. You need a Tremol-No™ for that. Trust me, it's the BEST $80 you'll ever spend on your guitar. Get a Hipshot! :)

TheodoreCao Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - you can also play open d and 12th fret harmonic on the e and tune down until its the same

powerkor Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - yeah, but i'm embarresed by just how beginner it is

CynicalSavior Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - So what? There has to be a step one. There are plenty of people out there that have no idea what Drop D means. You have to spell it out for people that are just starting out. If you're beyond it, why even comment?

powerkor Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - I was just kidding. it's great, I'm not putting it down.

Krasher4ever Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Hehe, you're right about that... didn't think about it. Maybe I'll buy one later, when I need one ;)

kradblade Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - D-tuna for Floyd Rose.

sakurasfanboy14 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Man, I dont get it...
