Aug 21, 2008 - man , to be alive in time where the muic was great. no cellphones, dvds, PS2s, iPODs, internet, flo rida, amrican idol and EMO.long live the 80s. life was simple and idyllic.

johncbourg Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - MY era, what a time it was. Thanks for the memories

EricD Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - Um, I lived then, and it was no that simple. Constant worry that Reagan and Thatcher were going to drop bombs on Russia was not idyllic. AIDS was ravaging the world (still is, but some treatments are available). Oh, and VCR tapes were around 60 bucks a piece. It seems every decade, everyone thinks the decade 20 years ago was "simpler."

Aug 21, 2008 - I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

ChopSockeyJockey Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - No speed cameras. No CCTV. Gun and knife crime in the uk were unheard of. Recession was a something you learned about in history class and not a buzzword on the news networks. We were proud of our armed forces instead of feeling sorry for them getting wiped out in some backwater dustbowl that nobody but the governments believe in. I'd say that was simpler.

cordsman Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - yeah dude theyre one of my fav bands and i live in america...

Aug 21, 2008 - Never got the credit they deserved, great songs and lyrics. Very underappreciated indeed..........

BriteWingz Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - XTC were LOVED by the critics (and rightfully so). Whenever they released an album Rolling Stone wet itself. It may not have translated into a ton of sales but they got credit. As for the decade as a whole:it sucked. Instead of Wii's we had Atari 2600, Walkman's instead of IPods, CB/HAM radios instead of the internet, Star Search instead of American Idol, college radio instead of Emo. Same crap different year.

jampot64 Says:

Shysgifter Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - One of the best 'rock' albums ever! 'One of the Millions' off the same CD is pure frickin' genius. Agreed - simply one of the most under-appreciated bands ever.

mastodonic1 Says:
