Aug 21, 2008 - it took about 3 days for the majority of the swelling to go down, and about 2.5-3 weeks for me to talk completely normally again. my mom didn't notice i had it for a week :p once she saw it, she was fine with it. although, when i had asked her in the first place, she was against it. x

Aug 21, 2008 - No it's not true that you can't talk for two weeks. Unless your tongue swells really really bad then you shouldn't have a problem. I had friends with me when I got it done the second time and we were talking just fine after, granted it hurt, but you can talk.

Aug 21, 2008 - I did the same thing.. Well, my dad knew but not my mum or stepdad. The first week I avoided them at all costs because I could barely talk. I just said I was sick and stayed in my room. When I talk I just keep my mouth real close and be very careful. you can't leave it out for more than like an hour either or it can start to close. Mine's been done almost a year and it still does.
