Aug 20, 2008 - Ted Kennedy on raising taxes: Hey its only money - especially since its your money - not mine.

grimm5150 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I agree in the importance of the first amendment as it relates to internet communication. However, the we keep the internet free and neutral is to keep government out of the picture not invite them in by begging them to come and solve our problems. remember that government does nothing well accept spend money that doesn't belong to them. Also there must be a more suitable spokesperson for this cause than a cowardly drunkard that left a young woman to die to save his political career.

pf3nnig Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - would give him my vote if i could

KylieZDM Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Ted Kennedy is a little bit more literate than Ted Stevens isn't he? Not quite as 'the the the internet is a series of tubes'!Poor Stevens. He'll never live it down. As for Kennedy, go man go!

SoccaPlayaNate Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Ted I may not be from Massachusetts, but your words are oh so true. I'm glad to see a person from the government step up the way you did and speak the truth. I just hope you really mean it and aren't just feeding it to us to make us happy. Good day sir.

OttoMaddock Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - There is new legislation in the tubes. This represents lots of hard work was done by the lobbyists for the telecom giants to ruin the internet. Let's hope uncle Ted can stop them.

1132497 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - All must agree on this much if we are to disagree in a constructive manner about other things. Sadly, this debate is not limited to one country.Commodifying one's rights is damnable.

mrchappelow3 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - God bless him

tailgunner2 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Free internet, what a joke. Can any one, just one, of you "netizens" can point out to me a single aspect of the internet that is "free"? Is it the communication cables? Somebody had to be paid to manufacture and install them. The servers? Some engineer had to be paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to design and program them. Can anyone point to me exactly where the internet is free? Anyone?

jazzy1260 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I'm really not a Ted Kennedy fan, but he definitely makes sense here.

jointhefog Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - If you enjoyed this clip, check out this great new book. "The F.O.G." at thefog(.com)Awesome read! And guaranteed not to insult your intelligence.

IrrigatedPancake Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Television allows Government Inc. to communicate to me. The internet will allow what ever I choose to do, weather creating content or accepting/rejecting use of other content. Stay the hell away from the internet. If cable companies decide to mess with our only medium for unfiltered communication, THEN WE'LL STOP GIVING THEM OUR MONEY and new networks will be created. I have no doubt about that. The ONLY ROADBLOCK to such flexibility IS GOVERNMENT REGULATION.

to761983 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - A left-wing extremist can't be the voice of reason. And they want freedom for themselves - not for "bigots" "racists" or anyone who disagrees with them. Drop the "liberal" pretence, it's old hat.

mb121 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - The fact that some pay more and get better internet (including big businesses, folks) doesn't detract from our usage. Let the big companies build NEW infrastructure and charge more for THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO PAY, and let internet improve for everyone. I like DSL just fine (in the same way I liked 56k), but I'd love to see what the market can bring me in 10 years for the same/lesser price.

y0uguysrdumb Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - oh please ted kennedy is a fool democrats dont care about you people. they are the best actors ive seen, for instance bill clinton: we can help the earth by lowering our c02 and use of electricity even though my house uses more electricity then the entire state of tennesee but you people dont want to see that hes a good man and he only wants to raise taxes because hes mad at bush

y0uguysrdumb Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - then you would be fooled just like most of you people i still cant believe you got them into congress now were really screwed

cyruscobain Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - ROSI-Republicans Over Simplify Issues. Go Ted!

melito9791 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Watching Ted I can see how JFK would look like today if he was alive.

timbosforporn Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Do people really believe that if this legislation is enacted that the internet will evaporate!

edatoc2007 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - The only controls on the Internet should be by the parents and user.

diaboyos Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - We need Net Neutrality NOW. Comcast has now employed the use of Sandvine to block uploads on the Bit Torrent network, even though the Bit Torrent network is widely used to distribute completely LEGAL files all the time.

soloinpomona Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Mr. Kennedy, If the internet is to remain free. Then government must not interfer with what information people find on it. People must to intrusted to decide for themselves what is right and fair. And to quote Larry Elder regarding Equality, "Equal opportunity doesn't mean equal results." Good Day.

soloinpomona Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Mr Kennedy, leave the internet to free market forces. The people don't need the government to decide what's fair and equal."Equal opportunity doesn't mean equal results."

phyllisfiredwards Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Thanks Ted Kennedy! I am always going to be a supporter of Ted Kennedy. I agree he is a good man. Human as he may be, who isn't??Thanks for all you do TED!

jedmarum Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Teddy knows what we should be able say and hear on the Internet. It must be neutral! Thanks God Teddy is smart enough to know what we should hear.
