Nov 20, 2008 - It's Vinnie's brother Carmine on drums. They do look a lot alike though. Both are great Rock drummers. This was cutting edge drumming for 1968! Check out Dio Danelli's 1966 drumming with the Young Rascals. He's another great showman who was ahead of his time.

Nov 20, 2008 - undoutably the best rock band performance EVER on this Ed Sullivan Show. Most acts would come on and lip sync and look like lifeless puppets. This was a band kicking MAJOR ASS ! If the Fudge could have wrote better songs they probably would have been the biggest band in the world at this time.

Nov 20, 2008 - AGreed! You just don't see this type of excellence anymore. Also I don't like speaking ill of the dead but Bonham is nothing compared to Carmine Appice

eastsackevster Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Imagine what the Appice house must of been like inside growing up Vinny and Carmine, not one but TWO drummersparents must of lost thier minds

eastsackevster Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - ps, I filed this under my 60's playlist, which is getting to long! haha take what you want if you like. 70's list is a brute also

Nov 20, 2008 - I would LOVED to have seen Ed Sullivan while these guys were playing, if it's that show! Good Band, good players, but they are so spastic it's hilarious! C'mon! It's called overperforming!

jwalker99 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Come on ..show some love. Peace not war man. These guys pour out their artisitc hearts & souls and all you say "spastic"?Man you missed the 60s in a bug way.

bill3979 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Brings back great memories. Saw these guys in a 3000 seat concert hall with great acoustics. Opening act the Soul Survivors(Expressway to your Heart?!), Fudge the second act, headliner Jimi Hendrix. Tim Bogert was/is one of the best bass players. ever.

mccartney7890 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - not bad

cheerbear237 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - I agree that you have to admire that unbridled energy and passion they had for their music. Their energy makes me envious.

cheerbear237 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Those poor parents' ears must have bled nightly! Guaranteed they both owned ear plugs and hearing aids. But they raised two excellent drummers who I'm sure rewarded them for their patience.

Prespapier Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - This version of the song still haunts me and i'm coming coming back for time to time just to watch...great performance, great artists..and by far the best cover.

kob083463 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Bonham is better, but Carmine Appice is very good

jaftermath Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Probably one of the most under rated bands of all time. I wasn't around for the sixties but that is a great cover and it still sounds fresh 40 years later. My only knock on the band is they need more original material. I'll tell you what, that drummer is awesome!

Ntone606 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Awesome! I really suck for not finding this before now.

MrSkinnn Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - One of the things that makes this band a total power legend is that they rip up, rock & psychedelicize other bands songs - As far as I'm concerned, I wish we had more covers from them! Maybe you had to be there .... it was a great time period.

MrSkinnn Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Oh yeah . . . Can not wait for Wednesday, March 12, 2008 . . . The original band will be at theSellersville Theater in Sellersville, PA. and Mrs. Skinnn and I will be there. Check their website or Vanilla Fudges for info.

MrSkinnn Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Oh man ..... so sorry if you think this is overperforming - this is as real as it gets.

maxfischer10101 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Never liked Carmine Appice, wrote a book, everyone thought he was great, including himself. HUGE ego. Good book, but show me a video or let me hear him playing something complicated. So I'm biased definitely. Anyway the video of the Fudge is a PERFORMANCE! If you want "real" whatever the hell that is, show them in the studio. I don't hate the video I just think it's a little over the top. But you have to consider the time ect...and I can't find my orginal comment...strange. I guess it was edited

Joeyfulco Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - GREAT ENERGY! GREAT PERFORMANCE!And you can tell they had fun playing!BRAVO!!!!Joey Fulco

BRAZR54 Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Best drumming I've ever seen, bar none

Nov 20, 2008 - Da' boyz! The Fudge rocked! Carmine is one of the all-time greatest drummers ever and so is Tim as a bassist!
