Nov 18, 2008 - [Saddam Hussein had been placating the world community, bribing key nations, and hampering weapons inspectors.]Sounds like he was using politics effectively. We didn't like it so we dropped bombs on them, before any proof was available. I still haven't seen any proof of WMDs.There is the key. Hussein was guilty of a crime, that isn't even a crime, even though we proved nothing.None of what you brought up is a defense for what Bush did to them.
WayfinderX Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - But your premise is flawed. Russia and China are not necessarily the same as Iraq or a group of fanatical Islamic zealots who are willing to kill themselves if it means killing a bunch of infidels. Saddam Hussein repeatedly funded terrorists, particularly the PLO and subsidized families of suicide bombers. Any notion that he wouldn't enlist al Qaeda to suit his ends is absurd.
WayfinderX Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - You're absolutely wrong about Bush killing more than Islamic terror. At this point, you're grasping for straws.
WayfinderX Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Actually, on the floor of the Senate, Senators Rick Santorum and Mark Pence had read into the Congressional record back in 2006 that we have, indeed, found more than 500 shells of unaccounted for sarin canisters and other CWs, along with missile systems that can reach out beyond 1500km, well within the UN resolution restricting Iraq to missile systems of a range of only 150km. Look for yourself. We've also found 200tons of yellow cake. It isn't surprising if you haven't heard about it.
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - [Any notion that he wouldn't enlist al Qaeda to suit his ends is absurd.]Excepting that Hussein and al Qaeda were mortal enemies. It would be absurd to say that they were on the same team.If Russia was not in the 'same category' then how come we were in a cold war, terrified of them for so long?
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - [You're absolutely wrong about Bush killing more than Islamic terror. At this point, you're grasping for straws.]Before bush even came into office, Sanctions that the US enforced was responsible for the deaths of 2million Iraqis and responsible for the displacement of 2million more.Since the 'war on Iraq and terror' began, over 500,000 Iraqi civilians had their lives violently destroyed though coalition or US actions.Islamic terror hasn't accounted for that devastation in a century.
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - [indeed, found more than 500 shells of unaccounted for sarin canisters and other CWs]And again, there is no law against WMDs. The only country who has used WMDs against other nations is the USA.Bush lied. He had the nation horrified that Iraq was going to attack America with WMDs or give them to terrorists to use on us.He used preemptive aggression with no proof. The last country I know did that was Germany in 1933.
robopad Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - The difference is, you moron, is that he used (WMD)against his own people, Bush went to the UN 14 times for a resolution and gave Hussien a choice, Hussien chose to be forcefully ousted, and the people killing the civilians is not the US but the suicide bombers, I can't believe people on the left are so blinded by your hate for Bush, that your refuse to see the truth, or maybe you are just plain ignorant.
robopad Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - You also left out one little thing eklpse0mind:the mass graves of defenseless women and children that Saddam gassed, over 100's of thousands of bodies found killed by mustard gas, I can't believe any descent human being that would side and defend Hussien.
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Actually, the great number quoted of people were from Air to ground bombings. While only a minority were directly hit by the bombs, the majority were killed by the side effects of the bombings. Namely the destruction of infrastructure that caused rampant disease which killed men, women and children.
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - [I can't believe any descent human being that would side and defend Hussien.]Determining right or wrong for other countries is not a power that is granted to our government. It was unconstitutional for Bush, the President, to unilaterally declare war on Iraq. Only Congress has that power, and Congress never did declare war. This isn't a moral question but a lawful question that has been ignored for almost the last full century. Every 'police action' we have been in, ended in failure.
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - [Bush, that your refuse to see the truth, or maybe you are just plain ignorant.]America has no right to be the parents of the world. You are ignoring the fact that Bush didn't use 'Husein kills his own people' as the reason he went in. Bush lied and said that Husein wanted to attack us, directly or indirectly with the weapons.Bush kept throwing mud as the reason we are at war until something finally stuck with the American people.
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - ...killed men, women and children. As matter of fact, the weapons we used in Iraq will keep on killing for the next thousand years. DU explosives and ammunition is causing hideous side effects to infant birth, for both Iraqis and the families of American soldiers that were exposed to it.Which is why the Government drops American soldiers completely from health benefits once they are finally relived from duty.
ricklicious Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Conyers is a weak Chump!
ricklicious Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - There is so much evidence to presecute many higher ups! I wonder if it will ever happen. My guess is no. We'll see which leaders will grow a set and get on the truth train. i think most of our elected are crooked and scared of loosing their way of life so they will screw the majority! Real American! Our founding fathers would be ashamed of us...
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Just as a note, People will bey dying over there for a thousand years directly because of our actions in the last decade. It's Called DU ammunition and bombs. It is causing an extreme infant mutation/mortality rate in both the Iraqi people and the soldiers that were exposed to it.
urbanverificationist Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - The most vile things men do are do well within the law. Our founding fathers committed genocide upon our Native American population. Our southern brotheren clung to the institution of slavery. The Vietnam War was predicated on entirely false premises. And now, a president has lied to his country, sending thousands to their deaths, for oil and empire.

Nov 18, 2008 - my heart breaks. This is not the first I have heard of this but my heart breaks to think that this is true. I know it is true. Forgive us all for supporting this gangster.
eklypse0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - But there is a news flash. Saddam and terrorism are not the same thing. Saddam hated terrorists and killed them when they were found in his country. There are more 'terrorists' there now then there ever were before. But to be honest, I have to side with them. After all is it really terrorism when the citizens of a country want invaders to get out? (Those are usually called freedom fighters and patriots.) The majority of Iraq want America to get out of their country.
