Nov 18, 2008 - By being 5000 ton engineering marvels... there's no question, your idea is stupid. Also, this car is stupid
bpalob Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Ever heard of oxidizing fulls used for internal combustion engines, for example for Torpedos? Wouldn't be such a big thing to make that work on a car engine underwater I guess. Or just do it like the "5000 ton engineering marvels" do,... by using a snorkel.
andyroo54 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - looks pretty unstable.. and totally impractical..
handlerb Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - They use nuclear reactors or prior to that batteries. A snorkel only works if you're near the surface and on a level plane. Who would buy a submarine car with a max cruise depth of 36 inches?
afriend2003 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - "oxidizing fulls[sic!]." You clearly don't know jack about physics. Please calculate:a) the buoyancy of an air pocket 5' by 4' by 4'b) the weight of 2 big block engines (Hint: a>b)c) Oxidizing fuels, part 1: Oxygen replacement. Calculate the volume of nitrous oxide needed for a ten minute dived) Oxidizing fuels, part 2: Hypergolic fuels. Calculate the cost of 1 gallon hydrazine.e) Calculate the CO2-output of a V8 compared to an electric engine. Now go and do your homework.

Nov 18, 2008 - Booooring!
xXRetardKoolaidXx Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - That would mean it looks like you're not moving at all! THAT'S SO FAST RIGHT?! O.O Lmao.
xXRetardKoolaidXx Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - The car can't even get down to the Sharks lmao.
rebelde3133 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - But the sharks can come to you!!
stonefish2000 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - lotta ericson on 1 of the seabobs is my mom :-)
silverseal318 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - LOL!
xXRetardKoolaidXx Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - True but the fuck would be ludicrous enough to come to ocean with that hunk of junk? XD
johnizawsum Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - i'm just taking a guess here, i think that they didn't put a roof on it so that they wouldn't have to worry about cabin pressures, and oxygen, etc. that'd still be really annoying though. they should have developed some kind of cabin oxygen system, etc.
afriend2003 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Three reasons for no roof:a) buoyancy: Adding a roof would also mean adding 2 tons of ballast, which would make the car on land move like a turtle.b) Safety: At a depth of 10 meters, the water pressure would keep the door shut with a force of ~4000 kg. Impossible to open in an emergency.c) Pressure: Water pressure at 10 meter is ~10tons/sq.meter. Instead of the typical 0,7mm sheet metal used for cars the cabin they'd use 1,5 - 2mm at least, which would make the car very heavy again.
Turb0o0 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - There is an oxygen system with scuba diving masks.
ShinBurokun Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Hey guess what? My car can dive under water too... once... ;-)
myfriggingod Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - ha!
znl0901 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - okay yea i get that but wouldnt everything on the inside of the car get soaked?
thecollies Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - the designers mis heard the design breif "to design a car that ran on water"
odi22865 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - it looks like an Lotus Elise :D
bloodbrother44 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - It's a reincarnation of Bond's diving Lotus!
DRIFTKID220 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - seems like a mix between the front of a lotus and the back of a cararra
mikethebiddles Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I'm sorry, but thats a cool car! what's the price? prob. R1600000 or $4598! soz! I'm not American so I don't really know how Americans workout prices! as u can see, I am South African. that explains the R!
Oski360 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - What's the name of the machines in the start of movie ? :)sorry for bad english.
bpalob Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - OK, think ;-) How do submarines solve this problem? ;-)
