Jul 26, 2008 - i have a question with shooting? i try to flick my wrist but when i do its like overly flicked and looks really tenese? any idea's? and also where should i hold the ball before my shot?
sky3vil Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - According to better basketball's better shooting, if you have problem like airjordan23man you should 'wave good bye' after you took your shots. If you do that, your mind will automatically remind you next time and you can have that 'soft shooter's touch'.=flipping the wrist too hard when release the ball will cause you to lose 'shooter's touch' = shooter touch: some shooter can get the friendly roll after the missed the initial shot. You can have that with soft follow through

Jul 26, 2008 - betterbasketball's shooting dvd tips aren't that adavanced. In addition to that, a lot of the concepts are wrong too.
usernamefuckoff Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - There are surprisingly many techniques and notions of the shooting mechanics involved. But you should be aware that what might appear as a wrist flick when you watch nba players shoot may not be what the players muscles are really doing. And players certainly don't focus on flicking their wrists. The apparent wrist flicking is mainly good for follow through. Imagine if you shoot without the motion of wrist bending (obviously unrealistic technique wise).

Jul 26, 2008 - yeah i agree... do u have any tips for me?
usernamefuckoff Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - You should aim with a good technique of shooting with the surface of your palm naturally. If you overly wrist flick, it means you are most likely using a lot of wasted strength and motion shooting with your fingers and finger tips. Not only does it decrease your margin of error because shooting with fingers increase that margin of error, it also reduces your potential shooting distance. Observe Kyle Korver, Ray Allen and Tmac's shooting techniques.

Jul 26, 2008 - okay... shooting with the palm naturaly.. ill for sure try it thanks bro

Jul 26, 2008 - how to have a backspin ah?i cnt get a ny backspin no matter how i shoot.please help D:
blakhawkeace13 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - keep your elbow/fore arm in front of you and tucked in
qqhaikal Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - oooo. i did tht. bt,still no backspin D:how to have a backspin on the ball man?
batkins1821 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Well, usually when you're not getting enough backspin, it's because your pushing the ball more than flicking your wrist......I don't know if it's true in your case or not, but it's something to check.
qqhaikal Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - ooh,i'll try to work tht out.thanks though
c36188h Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Try holding the ball with a flatter hand and not as much with your finger tips. As you shoot shift the ball from the bottom of your hand to your fingers. The ball should be released off of your middle and index finger. Flick your wrist but let the ball roll off smooth.
blakhawkeace13 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - you also have to use your left hand to guide the ball so your not letting your elbow creep out so there's sidespin on the ball, you should post a video of your shot so I can help you, you dont have 2 though, theres videos by pistol on how to shoot perfectly called "homework" try them.\

Jul 26, 2008 - K if u want to learn how to be a nice consistent shooter MSG Me

Jul 26, 2008 - Kyle Korver is smooth...
KehmDaddy Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - This video is pretty sick, I only wish it were longer, you didn't show Kyle Korver twice, and that Mike Bibby was not in the video... cmon, he can shoot pretty well, but he's not pure like those other guys. Put Marco Belinelli, Andrea Bargnani, Dirk, Michael Redd in!
batkins1821 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Thanks......but no way I'm putting Bargnani and his 38% FG percentage in there. I'm a big fan of Maco but he's not proven yet. I hate Dirk. I really like Redd but I didn't have any clips of him.
KehmDaddy Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - If you want to show players with the most pure and best looking strokes, then those guys all belong. Bargnani is unbelievably talented, give him a few more years before you decide to label him a bust. He's done some brilliant things, he just hasn't put it all together yet.
batkins1821 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Where did I say he was a "bust?"I like Bargnani, I think he's going to turn out fine. but he hasn't proven anything yet. I used the clips I already had, I wasn't going to go out and look, as I wasn't even planning on finishing/releasing this.
