Aug 20, 2008 - it was their first real time to go mainstream while I like the black album a lot and while listening to it when it came out I probably would've just thought they took their sound in a different direction not necessarily bad but I think it opened the doorway for the next few albums which were overall pretty crappy

Aug 20, 2008 - I sorta just saw that... as for that... groove metal I could see being heavier, but it's less thrash. So calling Metallica soft thrash while calling Machine Head "real" thrash is kinda hilarious, simply because groove metal is a slowed down soft version of thrash with more emphasis on a groove than a chug. This song doesn't really fit into groove though.
