Lune's theme from Super Robot Wars: OGs for the PS2It probably would have been more appropriate to use a picture of Lune but Valsione is hot.(Not sure if this is the right title, I'm getting the titles from Wikipedia)

Aug 20, 2008 - Yes, since, as she put it, there was no way she was going to pilot something that looked like the Valsion.

exiaaltronus05 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I love Valsione R's pose. And yeah, Ryusei is still bleeding here!

keenedgedblade Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Its supposed to be tom cat for Lunes theme. I checked sine i own both super robot taisen OG $ OG2

tehrofler Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Flapper Girl is the correct name based on the katakana. Tom Cat is what Atlus named it though.

Socran Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - They mean pretty much the same thing. Atlus just changed it to a word that's still used, since Japan just uses English for the sake of it being English.

tunoddenrub Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Some of Atlus' 'translations' make no sense. I mean sure, 'Woman the Cool Spy' is Engrish gibberish. But turning 'Dark Prison' into 'Man in the Dark'? 'Ice Man' into 'Cool as Ice'? 'Psychic Energy' into 'Psychic Power'? 'Ace Attacker' into 'Ace Pilot'? 'Ash to Ash' into 'Code ATA'?

luminozero Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Funny thing is, almost ALL of those make perfect sense. Were you trying to make a point there?

Socran Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I think his point is that everything that isn't exactly the same as it is in Japanese completely sucks and they should be shot for even thinking of making things more acceptable by American audiences. For shame.

tunoddenrub Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Ha. Ha. Hahaha. Er, no. My point was that there are some changes that they didn't need to make and did. I don't have a problem with some of what they did. Just like I'm not one of those people inclined to gripe about 'Sanger' versus 'Zengar' - Sanger IS correct, whether purists like it or not. I just think changes JUST FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGES are dumb. 'Ace Attacker' and 'Ice Man' are pretty catchy names and MAKE SENSE. 'Cool as Ice' and 'Ace Pilot' aren't catchy at all. :<

luminozero Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Cool as Ice is more fitting then Ice man, I'll give you the Ace Attacker one though.

Socran Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - What are you talking about? Ace Attacker is one of the things that did need to be changed. It was originally Engrish that mixed together the concept of an ace pilot with someone who... attacks. It really doesn't hold any meaning in English, so they changed it to the origin of the term, Ace Pilot. Cool as Ice was done because Ice Man, while not NEARLY as old as Flapper Girl, has still fallen out of use, but saying that someone is as cool as ice still holds meaning today.

tunoddenrub Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Two words:Top Gun.

Socran Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Two more words: "Old movie." Also "No longer". And "relevant in". And "pop culture."

tunoddenrub Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I should not be feeling old at 23. Curse you young'uns. :(

Socran Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I feel old at 19, because I remember the names of all the first generation (in the US) Power Rangers.

tunoddenrub Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Pff. That's not old. I remember actually sitting down to watch the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. D:

GeoRyukaiser Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Here here

Socran Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I remember watching the show, I just don't remember anything from it... Except that it's the first place I heard the "Is your refridgerator running?" prank.

LM314V21 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - wasn't because of licensing issues as well? I mean it didn't seem they were allowed to use any licensed names in both OG games. like in OG2 when Masakai almost mentioned the "red Comet" and the "gandam" conversation

tunoddenrub Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I'm not sure how that has to do with anything. All the OG theme song names are part of the OG license, I would think. Ryusei's theme was still called 'Everywhere You Go', Irm's was still 'Time to Come', and I'm pretty sure Ingram's was still 'Time Diver'. If it were licensing issues, all the songs would have been changed, right?

FoieGras Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Shiroki Kou no Tenshi Valsione is the name of the song, I believe

dropthepin Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - SRW has everything from kickass super robots, GARly men to mecha girls. 5 stars, for the song, game and of course the picture.

KaosuHaze Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - ..Curse you Rule 34, CURSE YOU!(Awesome song is awesome)

StressedoutGamer Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Only a few were changedFallen White Angle(U.S ver)White Lucifer(Jap ver)Beowulf(U.S ver)Hagane no Beowulf(Jap ver)

tunoddenrub Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I think you mean 'Platinum Lucifer', first of all. Second of all, you're forgetting Dark Prison (Granzon's theme, retitled Man in the Dark), Ice Man (Rai's, retitled Cool As Ice), Psychic Energy (Aya's, retitled Psychic Power), Woman the Cool Spy (Viletta's, retitled an admittedly less engrishy Femme Fatale), Neppu! Shippu! Cybuster (Masaki's, retitled Cybuster, God of Wind!), Marionette Messiah (Levi/Mai's, retitled Marionette Savior)... I'd go on but I'm running out of space.
