Jul 26, 2008 - I have a 7300gt i can play crysis ultra high settings 5 150 inch monitos at 999,999,999 x 999,999,999 resolution 16xAA 150 fps i swear
GamerN3rd Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - funny thing is 3 x 9800's gtx tri sli is faster and 100% cheaper
V3LOXy Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - so what, this video was added when the 9800gtx wasn't released yet -_-

Jul 26, 2008 - thats great RSSsailing, hehehe, but i really hope somebody will come with that and show this maxiasshole.......i wonder if maxishine buys food sometimes, not just video cards....geforce for lunch, ATI for snack...JEEZ
geeksquadgreg Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - actually that's where you would be wrong, an 8800gtx still owns most of 9 series cards except the new 2xxseries . 8800gtx>9800gtx, in price performance, vram, and the most important aspect, card bandwidth the 8800gtx dominates the 9800gtx.
brillman Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - thats where u would be wrong..the ultra may have more ram..but 9800gtx has a small processing unit and therefore makes use of more of its ram then the ultra does
geeksquadgreg Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - 8800ultraCore clock 630MHz Stream Processors 128 Memory Clock 2200MHz Memory Size 768MB Memory Interface 384-bit 9800gtx (based on g92 architecture)Core clock 678MHz Stream Processors 128 Memory Clock 2200MHzMemory Size 512MBMemory Interface 256-bit smaller architecture does nothing except produce less heat for one, secondly the 8800ultra was king of the hill for one good reason, it could scale well unlike the 9800gtx
geeksquadgreg Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - thirdly the 8800ultra is pushing its 768mb vram across a 384bit ram bandwidth which means more memory can be utilized at a faster rate, while the 9800gtx is stuck with 512mb, and a crappy 256bit band. so actually not only does the 9800gtx have less, it also cant access it as fast as the 8800ultra or gtx for that matter. Don't be deceived and think just because 9 is greater than 8 that it is a better card.
brillman Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - 9800gtx has a newwer processor, doesnt need as much clock speed..ram..or processors then the ultra does
geeksquadgreg Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - I interned at IBM incorporating linux kernels into the new cell based gpu's that you find in say the PS3's, so please take my word that Know a little bit about this subject. g92 is nice, but it is in no way faster, it only produces less heat, which I guess by transverse means it is faster, but only in the even that both cards were overclocked to the point that they were unusable. 8800gtx/ultra>9800gtx end of story.
geeksquadgreg Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - the processor is newer yes, but do even know what they changed? all they did was miniaturized the g80 architecture, it is not faster, and it is definitely not better at utilizing vram, and even if it was brilliman, what does it matter what it can do with the memory if it has to go through a 256bit memory interface to get there, its like saying my ferrari can beat your lambo, but the catch is the ferrari is going to be towing a trailer, it just doesn't work that way.
geeksquadgreg Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - the only thing that could THEORETICALLY be better on the 9800gtx is the gpu, and in theory yes, but in practice the benchmarks speak for themselves.

Jul 26, 2008 - I cried when you put them down hard ='(
dirtylarryuk Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - I owned 2 x Ultra special editions XT's the best G80 silicon ever made then OC'ed them past anything sensible. And until my GTX 280 XXX SLi arrives nothing, I mean nothing came close to those units at 1920x1200 or XHD (2560x1600). The GTX 280 is the true hier to the G80 ultra.Geek is 100% correct, please view my 1920x1200 DX10 crysis benchmark form months ago and no 9800 Sli users could beat it.
geeksquadgreg Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - yes it is lol, that is my next venture *counts cash ha.
dirtylarryuk Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Seems 2 are fine for 1920x1200 even for crysis and anything else for XHD. I think there are issues with 3 for now with drivers.

Jul 26, 2008 - 3x8800 Ultra is faster than 3x9800 GTX on 2560x1600 resolution. Below it 3x9800 GTX is faster
