Aug 20, 2008 - Hi all, what a powerfull song !Can anybody tell me where to find this version on a cd or something else ?Or is it just a live because this one is wonderful !!!

jaysown67 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - II don't know if this exact version is available anywhere but the closest CD version I know of is on his album "Alligator Wine". There is a slightly different version on another album of his called Portrait of a Man, a little toned down and not quite as good in my opinion. But Portrait of a Man also has his Old Man River on it which is just brilliant.

BelliBibi Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I managed to download a great similar version from HMV (not the toned-down one). The album is called "R&B From Doo-Wop to Hip Hop" but you can dowload just the one track.

tof84duventoux Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - amazing

qwisp Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Arguably the greatest performance I've ever seen. Bar none.

Jaysthename Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - This performance is a bit too campy for my tastes (although I love the original song), but this must have blown the little kiddies' collective minds back in the 50s, and as mentioned, modern "shock rock" certainly does find its origins here. Great upload, thanks.
