DG320 Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - Got that right. I suggest we put shredders to a weekly regimen of 10hrs of listening to Atkins and some other of the old cats. That'll teach them, f@%ng c@%Ns ramming 20 notes in a second ;-)
oArtVandelayo Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - Yeah then maybe they could still ram 20 notes into a second but make it um I don't know musical? Thats our only hope for the future of music.

Aug 20, 2008 - Chet seems like such a humble man... When the audience applauds the second time (probably when the "Applause" sign accidentally went on again) Chet looks almost embarrassed... What a great player! When Chet starts playing, the Slicker in the suit o' lights starts snapping his fingers completely out of time... funny...

Aug 20, 2008 - That is Jackie Phelps in the background with the weird guitar. He was on Hee Haw with Jimmy Riddle forever. I asked around Nashville and nobody could recall seeing it. I contacted his widow in Nashville and she said that none of his guitars was still around. She did say he made some of them and then would take them apart and use thew parts to make another.

Aug 20, 2008 - Really? That guy should have been working for Gibson with Ted McCarty! I was under the impression it was a Framus doubleneck, but your have the correct answer. I wonder if any music magazine ever interviewed him. By the way Chet is just amazing and I agree with DG320. But alas, that time is gone and will never come back, unless in our minds...

Aug 20, 2008 - I am a huge effects type of player(cause I'm below average at best LOL)... it's amazing to see him play so perfectly without any kind of effects.

Aug 20, 2008 - I started playing the git-box about 1952 , even had one of the first gibs ( a es125 ) Mr. Chet was the man and will always be .
Mizral Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - LOL I enjoyed watching Chet look at that girl as he was playing. I bet before he was married that guy had to beat the women off with a stick walking around Nashville.
soundsfromnothing Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - It looks like a "Cutaway" guitar in the background. Chet atkins was a huge influence on rockabilly guitarists like Carl Perkins as well. You can hear "Atkins Style" breaks on many of his songs.
