A sarcastic deconstruction of "Rock Around the Clock" by Telex. I say pop a valium and leave the tempo knob where it is. Just kick back in your rec room with a nice glass of water and enjoy!Artist: TelexTitle: Rock Around the ClockYear: 1979Label: Sire/Warner

Aug 20, 2008 - Totally agree.I think their surreal and self-parodic sense of humor wasn't understood and they were perceived as a joke/novelty group. But they are well skilled musicians:both Dan Lacksman and Marc Moulin have very interesting recordings during the '70's.

Aug 20, 2008 - New Wave rules. He reads a newspaper during the instrumental break! A great piss take on the rock n roll industry/lifestyle that was born in the 70s and is still hanging with us.

Aug 20, 2008 - Dan Lacksman mixed the latest Laïs album, you should (could) it out, all the songs are on youtube.

Aug 20, 2008 - woops forgot a word... you should (could) CHECK it out...

stereoloov Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Thx 4 the info!I'm gonna check it!I really think Dan Lacksman is a largely overlooked pioneer. He was the first person in Belgium who had a Moog Modular. Before Telex he did some awesome recordings in the '70's.My favourites are Electronic System 'Disco Machine',and Transvolta (Great name). You can check some Electronic System on YouTube.
