Developers resort to installing data thats already on the disk to the hardrive to make it load quicker, either that or they duplicate data and place it on empty places on the disk, so the drive laser doesnt have to travel as much. both methods make all that disk space redundant. So thats a shitty argument.

Jul 26, 2008 - The only game that REQUIRES installation is MGS4. Ninja Gaiden sigma has the option. Im sure others do as well and each takes upto 4-6gb of space! Its a bitch BUT the ps3's easily compatibility with harddrives (EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL) space is never going to be a problem. Worse comes to worse i'll bust my 16gb/8gb/4gb memory stick duo that i use for my PSP.

Jul 26, 2008 - Bluray isn't any slower than any other optical media. Installing the game to the hard drive decreases load times. This is the same reason why ALL modern PC games install something to the hard drive. It's just the smart thing to do, an optical disk is not going to be faster than a hard drive, cache, or internal memory.
