Aug 20, 2008 - I actually didn't know about this song and album until last year. I discovered the Roots when they put out the "Illadelph" album, then the rest was history. Still one of the best Hip-Hop groups ever, and one of the best live acts today.

Aug 20, 2008 - I just wonder what's the pschycology behind not playing songs like this and others like it on the air?

Aug 20, 2008 - The cream always rises to the top. Pure Hip Hop invokes the spirit and higher concious. It makes you feel good, makes you think, and tugs on all the emotions. Its a powerful tool.

gloccer Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Notice how most songs on the radio are idiotic and brain dead anthems or dances. Think about it, hip hop is a powerful tool that can influence how you think and feel. The Golden Era of Hip Hop encouraged listeners to question authority and the state of the world. So it was followed by an assertive effort to dumb it down. Bill Clinton signed the 1996 Telecommunications Act which allowed the big boys to buy up all the stations. Hence you have the same mind numbing programming nation wide.
