Aug 20, 2008 - 1978! I love this era: Sleazy glitz, Guy Bourdin, Helmut Newton & NYC back when the apple was still rotten but oh-so-juicy! The theme song is PRISONER by Barbra Streisand (who was going to play the lead role at some point, then backed out).Jon Peters, the producer, was her hairstylist & boyfriend at the time. Thanks for posting this rare promo-film!

DeNzIlJoNeS Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - thanks for that!! woohoo!!

Aug 20, 2008 - Faye Dunaway is so cool in this film. She was at the peak of her career.

Aug 20, 2008 - The song is simply referred to as the Love Theme From "Eyes Of Laura Mars" (Prisoner) by Barbara Streisand. The only known standard release in the US (I think) is on Barbara Streisand's Greatest Hits:Volume 2,released in 1978. I recently bought this compilation primarily for that song, but the whole CD is great. Ironicly, I have never seen the movie, but i think I will rent it if I find it this weekend. Thanx for the question.

pookie67 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - love the voice of actor Tim McIntyre (the narrator) who's voice was so omnipresent in the late 70's. Who would've thought Kirschner would go from this to Empire Strikes Back

Aug 20, 2008 - The first actress who took one millon dolar in a film. The Eyes was the typical easy film Oscar actresses pick after winning the academy award. However the fashions and look were a laboratory for what the eighties became as style. Although Dunaway always seems to be atemporal, not attached to a period, which is great and talks about the style of that lady.

Aug 20, 2008 - This is weird. The new movie coming out with Jessica Alba seems a bit similar in a way. I would like to see this one redone now. I bet it would be fabulous.

Cheetahsmonk Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - This movie kicked ass and Barbra Streisand's vocals on "Prisoner" ROCKS!
