Aug 20, 2008 - A lot of people have this idea that when they stand before God, he's so loving, he would never punish them because he is "nice". But that's not the God of the bible. His love is beyond our understanding but so is his holiness, his perfect justice, and his unquenchable wrath upon sin. When you say nice I think of someone who is always kind, optomistic, promoting peace and getting along with one another, while that is not a bad thing... God is gracious, but he's almighty powerful and to be feared

Aug 20, 2008 - yes he is :) God has used him profoundly in my life. I do know that everything great about Paul is by the grace of God, and God is to ultimately be praised! and I hope to see that grace upon more men and women, especially in this day. It's so easy to talk about what we should do...write songs about it, paint pictures about it, dance in joy of it, make youtube videos lol... but living it is the hard part.

Aug 20, 2008 - he is speaking against cultural Christianity... and part of that is the idea that if we ask Jesus to save us at that moment, he will. It's not really supported by scripture, but it is a doctrine that pleases men. God saves when he wants to, and usually when we don't ask.God does the saving, he doesn't need our permission, compliance, or agreement, he just saves people and it has nothing to do with what they have done or not done. It's all grace.
