Red Arrows Over New York CityWednesday June 25, 2008IN THIS VIDEO, watch as the Red Arrows fly a spectacular rolling show performance over New York Harbor for a special crowd gathered at South Beach in Staten Island. The Reds' performance over NYC was their first, and was part of a larger North American goodwill tour, which included airshows in Quebec City, Langley AFB, and Rhode Island, and the NYC performance brought mainly in part by ICAP, which is the world's premier voice and electronic interdealer broker, delivering specialist intermediary broking services to trading professionals in the wholesale financial markets. Despite the fact that it was a private show for the company (and that ICAP had a private party on South Beach), it was indeed open to the public to view from the beach or boardwalk. Following their performance, the Reds were joined by another Red Arrow, for a couple flybys of the Statue of Liberty as part of a special photo shoot. Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .

Aug 20, 2008 - Its not a competition it takes huge skill to fly with any of the teams. Just enjoy weather its a THE RED ARROWS , BLUE ANGELS or who ever. You are all so churlish. Please stop comparing.

theospark Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - They are still the best.

guitarjed Says:

taktikal24 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - while they might be flying faster (and im not sure of this...) i do know it is illegal to break the sound barrier in the USA unless under emergency conditions. russia... man i have no clue.

dmangham Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I'll have you know that the red arrows can be fitted with the AIM9L Sidewinder and the 30mm Aden Cannon

Ramerez491 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Do you know how many pilots get turned down for the red arrows just because they cant hold the hawk in tight formation properly because it is such a twitchy aircraft it takes skill just to even hold the thing in tight formations thats the whole point we could if we wanted throw together a tornado or typhoon display team but where would the fun be in that?it's about the pilots skill not how modern there aircraft are with the red arrows

anthony231994 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - they did not come to the sunderland airshow in 2008 so they did dispoint

1HOLYDIVER1 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - well i think a typhoon display team would be shit i like the hawk because it's nice and small and just works i think thats the mistake that the americans made using there epicly big fighter dunno its name im not a plane buff but i dont think big planes work in display teams

CaptainVasily Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Nonsense. There exists no such computer.

CaptainVasily Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - The Red Arrows are great, and British. The Blues and the Thunderbirds are great, and American. I am American, but neither the Americans or the British hold the distinction of being the best. That honor easily goes to the Italians. That is my objective opinion after having seen all teams live. In their hearts, both the Brits and the Yanks know it, but their hands are tied by rigid Anglo regulations.

msjordison Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - i totally disagree, i find the italians to be completely static and boring, as well a rigid and tiresome.

CaptainVasily Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Again, the Red Arrows are impressive, but they would never even be allowed to perform the more daring maneuvers the Italians do, such as tail slides and lomchevoks. A Frecce Tricolore solo pilot climbs to a low altitude, vertical stall and then slides backwards, flips to a vertical dive and then regains flying speed to climb out. He virtually emerges from a cloud of his own smoke. I loved the Red Arrows show, but sorry, they just don't do the balls-out maneuvers the Italians do.

applepan100 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - What kind of planes are those?

dmangham Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - they are Britishaerospace Hawk you Amercians have the Goshawk which are simular but built under license of BAe

DextersWheelFilms Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Yayyy RAF Red Arrows show USA what are air-force is made of! :D(I still like the USAF though! The raptors rule!)

lewlew12345 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - OH YEAH!!

FCbisleybob Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - i dont know why but that was what they call the medium show. they practice three shows a flat show or turn show for when there is very low cloud this show (medium) which is mostly turns but some on a 45 degree angle and then the full show sky high loops verticle climbs they draw a heart in the sky with smoke and peirce it with an arrow. shame but they are still amazing. wonder why sky looked clear only a few cumulous clouds. maybee civil flight paths. maybee one of you guys would know?

p2philip Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - The show in NY was a so called 'rolling show'. This kind of display is chosen when formation rolls are possible but loops and maneuvers which require higher altitude are not due to weather or, like in this case, air traffic restrictions, The Reds were not allowed to fly the full show due to civil aircraft inbound JFK.

GamingHD Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - YO DIS IS BETTER THEN ATLANTIC CITY
