Promotional trailer for the 2007 Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh, North Carolina. Competitors attempt to run two miles from the historic Belltower at North Carolina State University to the Krispy Kreme store in downtown Raleigh. Once there, they must consume a dozen original glazed doughnuts, and then run the two (primarily uphill) miles back to campus, all in under an hour. The challenge was first proposed by former NCSU basketball player Chris McCoy, and has been profiled by Sports Illustrated: On Campus. All profits from the event are donated to the North Carolina Children's Hospital. Successful completion requires at least modest physical fitness, and a cast iron stomach. Throwing up results in disqualification. Are you up to the challenge? Register at www.krispykremechallenge.com and find out!

dscosgrove Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I'll tell you what's stupid. . . the fact that you don't get that this event is a joke. It's real, but clearly it's supposed to be ridiculous.

Jul 26, 2008 - i am 52 years old and native of raleigh, i would gladdly run 2 miles for even just one k.k. donut. i live in lexington ky now, and it took every bit of 50 years for this, the horse capital of the world to get their first k.k.donut shop. whats more we now even have our first i-hop...go wolf pack

jwatson626 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - It's two miles, Jackass!!! They need the calories!!!

Ryuranger Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - No they dont -_-Even if they did they didn't need to eat fucking Donuts

jwatson626 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - What's your problem, Dude? Did you flunk out of Science class? Does a radio work without batteries? Does a car drive without gas? No, Dummy. And the body needs fuel too. Donuts provide us with all the essential carbohydrates, amino acids, and more importantly, sugary glazes, that give us energy and power us toward the finish line.

dscosgrove Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I think this is all lost on Ryuranger. Actually, it's four miles. Two miles to the donut store, and the two miles back.

jwatson626 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - FOUR MILES!!!!! Damn! Is a dozen enough? I would've thought they'd at least let them bring an extra box to eat half way back. This is truly a testament of not only human endurance and fitness but also to the rejuvenating power of Krispy Kreme donuts. JW

dscosgrove Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Indeed. There are donuts available at the finish line for those that want to make it a baker's dozen, or go for even more. I think they should add a chocolate-covered kreme-filled donut at the finish for an optional time bonus. They could call it, "going the extra mile."

hazukisensai Says:
