READ ME: If you want to know why there's a 'dumb American' stereotype here's why. An excerpt from the Chaser's War On Everything in Australia.And to everyone watching (especially some of you touchy US folk), this is a COMEDY show. Their intention is to select the idiotic responses - just like what would happen on something like Letterman or Leno. It's not a show aimed at giving people an insight into Americans, it's a show which people watch to laugh at.Why is it funny? Because it reinforces a stereotype (read: STEREOTYPE) that Americans are dumb, and although stereotypes are almost never completely true, they are often exaggerations of the truth, as can be seen.I sure hope that people don't think that ALL U.S. people are this dumb - that'd be as ignorant a belief as the people in this clip. This clip is really just funny because of the ignorance of the people in it; it'd be the same if they were Australians, British, or Indian - stupid people are entertaining!ATT: Any racist or offensive comments WILL be removed.
