Aug 20, 2008 - Different people have different opinions. The Leopard Mk2 is definitely on the list, as well as the Challenger Mk2, and the M1A2 Abrams. The Black hawk is a tank that I think Russia has designed and is selling to a couple of countries, but I don't know if it has been rated yet.

Aug 20, 2008 - I really don't like the "Top Ten" show on the Military Channel. Their rating system is bogus and comparisons are inconsistent. But on a more relevant note I really like the Merkava tank. It's built to kill T-72 tanks that their enemies use. It's built with the crew in mind, and it's just another example of Israeli "adapt and overcome" mentality.

Aug 20, 2008 - The Russian T-34 was given the no. 1 spot on this television program. they gave it that spot because there were so many of them, and it was the first successful production tank with sloped armor.

Aug 20, 2008 - It's called "Top Tens." It is a one-hour program on the Military Channel, which is available with digital cable or satellite service (at least in the United States where I live). They have an episode on tanks, one on fighters, another on bombers, one on rifles etc. Usually the no.1 place is very predictable for each program. It is usually the most-produced item, and they they give an arbitrary "rating" on why it is so good.
