Jul 26, 2008 - im canadian so i know about lots of american cars. but there are many that are not exported to europe and the ones that have gave the american automotive industry such a bad reputation that when the us did give a good one. nobody bought it because of what they thought of all american cars. plus in europe the european cars cost less then the american ones (due to importing, gas prices, etc.) in response to the beeping. no, not all beep.

Jul 26, 2008 - Mine only beeps when the doors are open/seat belt not on AND it's actually moving.It's actually quite anoying when you open the seat belt for manouvering in a car park or you pick somebody up at the side of the road, drive away quickly because you are blocking traffic and the car starts beeping at you because the passenger didn't put his seat belt on within 2 seconds. btw: This Cadillac really is far too ugly...

Jul 26, 2008 - Cars today always beep,my dad has a 2008 HSV GRANGE which also has a corvette engine, anyway it beeps when you select reverse, open a door when the key is in,when someone starts the car and still in park and you havent got your seat belt on it beeps,and it has 10 sensors on the exterior. When driving out our drive way, we pass a narrow entrance gate it goes crazy beeping. My mums lexus however, only beeps when you have left a door open when you select drive. (the japs know how to do it)

Jul 26, 2008 - I love american cars but it seems like cars like this (viper, corvette, etc.) just don't stand out in a parking lot it may just be me but whenever i see a corvette even if it is new it just doesn't have the sparkle of lets say a bmw or a land rover, it seems like american cars have been brought down so far by crappy cars like the taurus and caliber that you just kind of shrug cars like that off. Great american cars always have something missing that no one can put there finger on......

And Americans who slate European cars hate them just on the basis that they're not American. And they can talk about the British motor industry going down all they like, the fact is the US' best selling car isnt even American (Toyota Camry) and with GM's profits down AGAIN and on the verge of a takeover by the Japanese, the US Car industry wont exist soon either.
