Ford doesn't build Mustangs to fly. That was true back in 1968 when Steve McQueen sent a GT 390 soaring over the hills of San Francisco in Bullitt. And it's true of the new 315-horsepower 2008 Mustang Bullitt. We jumped it anyway. Not because we wanted to, but because we had to. It's a Mustang Bullitt, and that means it's gotta fly. Jul 26, 2008 - I think Ford has turned the Mustang into a family car. It isn't the car it used to be.

Jul 26, 2008 - hood/bonnet should be flat, or flatter, to look like a better pretender

OJSPEARS10 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - all about the challenger then its just between the new camero and the bullitt but still the challenger

cskrmetti Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I don't understand what the Bullitt has to do with the Challenger. Nothing. Two separate cars. The Challenger will win the 1/4 (SRT-8) but can't handle like the B. They are two different cars. If you need something to compare the SRT-8 Challenger to try the GT 500.

Jul 26, 2008 - I just recently took a look at the Bullitt Mustang and I found it to be really cheap inside and wasn't all that impressed with the car overall. Like the engine though.

Jul 26, 2008 - My favorite Mustang of all time 1968 Mustang Fastback. My first car 1992 Mustang LX. All the Mustang needs is more power, and less weight.

toastrytoaster Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Must the steering wheel and rear badge have the stupid bullitt graphic?

Cruentus1 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Nice car, but so what? It's not a "real" car like the first gen Mustangs. These will be snapped up by wealthy collectors(the only people who can afford them) and driven once a month, if that. The originals were affordable cars that were purchased by working class people, and actually used on a regular basis. With the rise(permanent) in oil prices, all of the retro muscle cars will be expense novelties owned by middle aged lawyers and doctors attempting to relive their youth.

Bret928 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Too Cool. Much better rendering than the 2001 Bullitt. I'm looking at getting a GT but am actually considering getting a Bullitt. Pricing has leveled off and there are a few just sitting on the lots in our area.Oh & BTW I'm not a lawyer and this would be my daily driver not a hanger queen as the previous poster (Cruentus1) suggested.

kingpin72493 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I would definitly go with the Bullitt, but there is 1 thing that i would do if you were to get it, change the cold air intake filter or system, because instead of a silicone filter like k&N intakes and other have, this one is PAPER!! Therefore restricting airflow and robbing horsepower, so if i were you and getting a bullitt, change the Intake system or the Filter to a Silicone air filter

SuperformanceCobra Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Sort of like the original...a cheap muscle car that's quick and not that expensive. Not alot of other options to compete with the fun of the mustang for the cash. I mean, yes, you could have an Evo or STI...but some of us don't want 4 doors or wings everywhere.

death2dialup Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I know what you mean. I absolutely hate Muscle Cars that have four doors, kills the whole idea behind the original muscle car.

4801jeff Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I got one. #4477. Had it for 34 days. It is point and shoot kinda fast. I have been passed a couple of times. But only cuz I let them.

Gummby69 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - dont do that serously...

ArkhamDrifter Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I own one... Most of these cars are bought as daily drivers by working class people like me. Lawyers and other "richies" don't care about at 30K mustang. In fact they turn their noses up at the sight of a Mustang.Wealthy car collectors don't care about this car either because from a collector's standpoint it's an unremarkable car.As far as having a cheap interior...The 1968 Mustang that everyone has exalted to holy status had a cheap interior too.
