Aug 20, 2008 - she doesn't have a different type of hair than any other black person. i'm black & i'm not stupid, i can tell it's a weave from a mile away. it's not real & i know it's not because "her type of hair" is just regular old black people hair..there's nothing wrong with having weave, 90% of black women have it..and rihanna did too back then..she didn't "cut her hair" she took out the weave & got it trimmed & styled.

My friend has a black mom that has hair down to her ass, b/c she never had a relaxer. And black guys grow an afro quick. I just want to know.

Aug 20, 2008 - oh ok thanks. It's probably from getting it done too much, b/c i've gotten relaxers before but it didn't ruin my hair. i just get it done once and continue to take care of it myself until it grows out, which would take like 6 months or a year.

Cuz the first time i tried the home kit and my hair dried out, but when i go to the salon, it comes out much better and smells better too. Also it could be maybe one can be using the wrong kind. They think they need to use super when they need mild or sensetive.

Aug 20, 2008 - also, our hair has varying degrees of curl (or kink) so it alters the appearance of length. I'm mixed so mine are looser, when it's curly it hits my shoulder, but if i flat iron it, it goes down my back.
