You remember Sheryl Lee Ralph from a series of TV shows from the early 1980's up until the millneium and the original "Dreamgirls"? In 1984, the Jamaican American singer/actress released one club hit entitled, "In The Evening" especially when club/house tracks mixed in with some soul was the growing trend of the urban community in the 1980's! The video proves how fun New York City use to be when you were'nt getting mugged (LOL)! Sheryl isn't a bad singer either, unlike most actors who try to sing! Enjoy and remember it was delivered and gift wrapped by your humble servant, Azone01!!PS: special thanks to my dawg, stillherelivtss!! This ones 4 U, homeslice!!!!

Jul 26, 2008 - I like her voice; the video reminded me of Rebbie Jackson's 'centipede' a little bit.

Azone01 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - What a coincidence! Rebbie's "Centipede" video came on just before this on my tape (in between a Care Free Curl commercial).

Jul 26, 2008 - Thanks for this post. I am so jealous you have a tape of New York Hot Tracks. This is bringing back memories. I liked Carlos DeJesus, but I loved it when Darnell Williams and Debbie Morgan took over.

Jul 26, 2008 - what a great song and memoriescan you please repost the video again?the most important part is the very end after she picks up the high heels and prances across the street, she stumbles in the very last few seconds. that made the whole video so damm entertaining.

jakobfrederik Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - So good and she's so pretty. Didn't she later play the mom on Moesha?

Jul 26, 2008 - Classic 80's club track. This sure brings back memories of my clubbing days in London when life seemed a lot less complicated. Brilliant tune.

ShangoJamal Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I was hoping this was a IN LIVING COLOR clip or some Throwback from one of th early episodes of FAME, but... guess not.Oh, Auntie Sheryl... !We Love You Anyway. You are STILL a Diva.

Azone01 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - She was just on an episode of Flavor of Love (season 3) as a motivational speaker for the 12 ghetto gurls that were in the house. She looks very good for 51 years old.
