Aug 20, 2008 - I believe Montiel's biggest win was over Z Gorres in the Philippines. He also knocked out Mexican Olympian Samual Lopez in just 3 rounds. Montiel has many big wins on his resume.

585WeDaBest Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - @ storkjmc , remember Kostya Tszyu was past his prime when Hatton beat him and made him quit on his stool.... Miguel Cotto has a MUCH impressive resume then Hatton does.... He outboxed shane mosley the last 3 rounds... I guess we will continue to disagree and that topic.... Are you going to do an episode on the Forrest-Mora fight on june 7...? I pick Vernon Forrest by knockout... Sergio Mora the last of the contenders and he will have a Loss on his record after Vernon Forrest is done with em'...

karlos81 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Okay, you the man!

karlos81 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - So Mosley and Judah were prime when Cotto beat them, his best two wins right?

dogsbollaxx Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Where you sir... struck by lightning

DirkDigglerV3 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Spot on. Both Mosley and Judah were past their primes.Ive said this before but it probably did Ricky more harm than good destroying both Tszyu and Castillo. It gave people the chance to say they were shot. What he really should have done was have life and death, back and forth struggles with them like Cotto did with Mosley and Judah.Maybe then he'd get some credit.

DirkDigglerV3 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - 585WeDaBest,You speak some utter shite mate. Cotto is not as constant with his pressure as Hatton. Hes more methodical. Yes hes a better all round boxer but Malignaggi will have never had someone in his face as much as Hatton.

DirkDigglerV3 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - odin442,Still got a massive boner for Witter I see. The guy was a temp paper champ. Get over it. He lost to a virtual rookie.....comfortably.

storkjmc Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - 585 - U got it all wrong! Tszyu was not past his prime or beat down like Judah was or as old as Mosley was when Cotto faced them. I remember quite clearly people thinking Sharmba Mitchell was going to beat Tszyu in the rematch, the result? Tszyu had gone no where, 4 kd's in <3 rds I recall in the fight before Hatton, and Tszyu was a monster favorite against Hatton. I myself predicted a Tszyu KO and was in shock by what happened.

DirkDigglerV3 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Exactly, Ricky was given about as much chance as Gary Lockett this weekend!Hindsight is always 20/20.I think Tszyu that night beats most other dudes at 140. Ricky just made him work every second of every round at a pace he wasnt comfortable at. If you let Tszyu settle and give him space to pick his punches, you're fucked!Islander - Tszyu vs Mosley at 140lbs circa 2001/2002 when both were unstoppable??I hear Sugar Shane skipped the entire division to avoid Kostya...

storkjmc Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Dirk-I'd actually favor Tszyu in that fight. The only 2 times Tszyu lost were against guys who threw more than 100 punches per round.Like you said if you let Tszyu get set your dead.Word according to Judah was Mosley was avoiding him,LMAO,but it really was Tszyu. And worse of all,Oscar fought 2 fights at 140 and got out of there before the pressure of a Tszyu fight. In reality Gary Lockett has more of a chance against Pavlik than Hatton did against Tszyu.

585WeDaBest Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - @ storkjmc, Kostya Tszyu was PAST his prime when he fought Hatton and i'm sticking to it..... If Tszyu was at his prime.... He would have knocked Hatton out! I agree tho that Lockett has more of a chance to beat pavlik than Hatton did with Tszyu.... Are you going to do an episode of the Quintana-Williams rematch card.... And the Pavlik- Lockett card....?

DirkDigglerV3 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - 585wedabest,Do you think if you put things in capital letters it makes it true?At least give us some reasons or an explanation as to why Tszyu was past it in your opinion.Otherwise shut the fuck up.

hardhead233 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Montiel if he can get the fight with Mijares and win should be ranked top 10 P4P the kid is talented and exciting, he can box he can punch, has good pop and throws so sharp precise combos..He basically has it all, him and Mijares would be an EXCELLENT fight and it needs to get done..

Curranmotorsport Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - hatton meaweather rematch is rumoured to be taking place in croke park statium ireland if the fight is announced...it would be the biggest outdoor boxing match in history with a capacity of 100,000 people...and we all no how much floyd loves his money.

storkjmc Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Curranmotorsport - It may hold 100,000 but its still shy of the record 135,000 at Azteca Stadium for Chavez-Haugen and I believe 140,000+ for Luisito Espinosa-Cesar Soto in the Philipines back in the 90's as well.

Curranmotorsport Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - ah right you know your stuff.....did you here anything of this fight?.....do you think cause of the fights popularity and the amount of people that it could be the biggest grosing fight?

storkjmc Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Curran-Only think I heard/read was that Wembley outdoor arena was being mentioned. And yes it would be the highest grossing live gate in history I would imagine. I know that some of the nose bleed seats at Chavez-Haugen only sold for about $1.25 at the time. The Espinosa tickets could have been that low or less as well.

storkjmc Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - 585WeDaBest - Yes a big Results/Preview show is coming up.

Curranmotorsport Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - ah sure wembley is tiny copared to croke park.:-)....i really injoy your shows by the way and i completly agree with your view on the p4p list...joe calzaghe diserves more regognition..
