Aug 20, 2008 - My friend, you're correct that most Muslims are not Shia, but I would imagine that many, if not most, would still respect the family of the prophet and the imams. I imagine you are Shia; my point was that if the verses you quoted meant what you advocate, then the strength and prominence of strong and noble women like the two I mentioned would run against the word of the Quran.

For example, you quoted "An-Naba: 32-34" as saying that Allah's heaven has virgin girls and wine. Isn't wine "haram?" So what's it doing in heaven? I suggest you read the Quran in light of its broader themes; while I'm no expert, I am convinced that literal interpretations of a few verses will not be true to the meaning of the text.
