Sep 5, 2008 - I heard Milstein's Zigueunerweisen and it's really fantastic... It's on eMule.. You should listen to it...("However, I cannot imagine him playing this piece. It's not in his style")

Sep 5, 2008 - Look I like Heifetz and all, but seriously, it gets annoying when you search for a VIDEO and get an audio recording. Youtube is for VIDEOS, please take this off.
AbsoluteZ3R0 Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - No way! Youtube is an excellent place to find videos as well as recordings, many of us search Heifetz to listen to his music, not always to watch him play.

Sep 5, 2008 - Hi was a real gypsy....-))))
Hermanhub Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - Yes, Heifetz owns this piece like nobody else. The conductor is William Steinberg, by the way, far from being an amateur!! And there is no Milstein recording of this work, the one you got on emule must be a fake (or is it "introduction and tarentella"?)

violindevil Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - actually heifetz made three different recordings of Zigeunerweisen(which proves how much he appreciated this piece), and this recording is not the one that u will find in the album "Jascha Heifetz:Showpieces" infact this recording was done in 1937 with John Barbiolli conducting the LSO. but yes he DOES own this piece like no one else.altho after him, i would HIGHLY recommend the video of Zino Francescatti playing this. its amazing and happens to be my 2nd favorite rendition of this piece

Sep 5, 2008 - Its a crying shame you don't get to see him use ricochet, i don't know for some reason he didn't look like the type to use such techniques!

abobo29 Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - It's a pity we don't have a recording where you can actually see Mr. Heifetz playing this piece, almost as great a pity as the burning of the library of alexandria
DualThunder Says:
