Aug 20, 2008 - well first i tried to eliminate the white nut piece all together but the lockinut made my strings stand to high which when i played the first few frets they were a half step to high in pitch so i put the nut bar back in and put the lock nder the strings slid up into the strings so t was snug. drilled pilot holes( very very important to do in order not to crack the fingerboard or neck) then put the screws in and put it together.

Aug 20, 2008 - fuck yeah it does, when you loosen the string by way of whammy, they slip up the nut , if they then grab you made those strings sharp in pitch. this guitar would go out of tune every three whammy bar dive bombs withpout the nut

Aug 20, 2008 - what part are you talkin about what do you mean? your intonation is out before you tighten the locking nut if thats what your talkin about yes, and you get used to how much it is out and compensate for such when tuning so that when you tightn the nuts, you r n tune

Aug 20, 2008 - yeah thats what i did before i put the floater on mine. i salvaged the old locking nut and put it on, just make sure it doesnt raise the string hight up otherwise when you play the first 3 or four frets they are the wrong note
