Aug 20, 2008 - I made this for my new southern hubby as I have been looking for the "right" southern pudd'in! I'm from Chicago so had no idea what authentic southern pudding should even taste like. He absolutely loved it and ate a 13x9 casserole dish of it in 2 days. I did add a tad bit more vanilla but this will definately become a staple in our house! Thanks so much!

Aug 20, 2008 - Excellent recipe! The only thing that I would do differently is this:Place all of the milk, all of the butter, and half of the sugar into the pot to heat up. Place the other half of the sugar, the flour, and the egg yolks into your stand mixer with the whisk attachment and beat the snot out of them. Once all of that comes together into a nice batter consistency, then add that to your pot. It'll help prevent any curdling of the eggs and any lumps with the flour.
